Each student learns how to ride, handle and care for horses. Duties will include making up feeds, feeding horses, rugging and unrugging horses, grooming horses, unpacking feed orders, mucking out stalls, filling manure bags and general duties around the property.

06.01.2022 Things Your Horse Should NOT Eat Large Amounts of Fruit and Vegetables As mentioned above many people like to give horses treats like apples. Horses love the sw...eet taste of fruit and will constantly look for more. Apples and some other fruits are OK in small quantities but can be hazardous in large amounts. Too many apples or fruit could result in colic which can lead to more serious gastro issues such as colonic ulcers. You should take extra care if your horse resides in an agricultural area where they could potentially get access to crops or tree’s bearing fruit. See more

02.01.2022 Today's Challenge: Go over your horse and where they live very thoroughly today. Did you notice a slight bump, heat or swelling, or even a tiny scar that you ...may not have previously noticed? When you looked around where they live, did you find anything different? Maybe where they pawed the ground and the area is disturbed? Why were they pawing? Manure in a pile for a horse that normally scatters it can be a signal that something is wrong. In the same way scattered manure from a horse who normally leaves it all together is a signal. What about the other animals and horses? Are they all acting normally or are they trying to tell you something? Keep your eyes and ears open for the little things. Glenys International Horse College .com
