20.01.2022 Jackie will do initial training and then well need others to step up as well thanks.
20.01.2022 Re Jimmy's service tomorrow We are not worrying about numbers for the Guard of Honour now, Funeral Director has plan B organised in case we get too many show up without notice. Would be a good idea to get there by 12.30 at latest for car parking. If we have too many members we will be doing the GoH outside on the road as the hearse leaves, that way the numbers involved will not matter so much, as per the Covid restrictions for gatherings etc; similar to the recent funeral for the Policewoman who had police lined up all along the roadside. Daniel, the Director will be advising us....

16.01.2022 Work happening around the green....new pop-up sprinkler system going in, no more putting the hoses in and out after games. Looking after our topnotch green .....Thank you to all those helping with side jobs and prep.
15.01.2022 Bowls SA have announced an immediate stop to ALL bowls activity from midnight tonight for at least 2 weeks. This applies to Night Owls, Thursday and Saturday pennant games, Friday practice and tournaments. Any updates will be posted here, emailed and texted to members and signs posted on community noticebard, (where team sheet is), and in post office window. Hopefully this will be contained within the 2 weeks and we will be able to resume our season. Stay safe and fingers crossed....
15.01.2022 The green will get an extra deep water tonight before the hot weather, and sprays due early next week will be delayed until after the lockdown......

15.01.2022 RIP Gerald, it was great playing against you on the green. Condolences to your family....
15.01.2022 Hi guys, I was approached by Jims family to arrange a Guard of Honour for Jimmy on Friday, and was asked to contact the Funeral Director, Daniel, for instructions and details on how to do this during these new restrictions. I have just spoken to him, and he thinks it will be a lovely idea, we have done it for other past members who have left us.... If you havent seen or didnt receive my earlier email with details of the service it is this Friday, 5th June at the Marrabel Rodeo Grounds, at 1pm. Unfortunately with restrictions in place, only 50 people are allowed to actually sit at the service so the rest of us have to stay in our vehicles for the service. Apparently there will be a large screen and audio setup so we can see and hear the whole thing. The club will form a Guard of Honour for when the hearse leaves the grounds, Daniel, will ask for those members who wish to take part to leave their vehicles and he will direct us to where we need to be. We MUST keep 1.5m apart. Also because of legaiities, and it being such a big funeral, there is the likelihood of police being in the area, and so to comply with new Covid restrictions, ALL members who wish to be part of the Guard of Honour , must let me know you wish to take part so that I can provide names and phone numbers to the Funeral company, Country Road Funerals. If you can please let me know you wish to represent the club in this way, by Thursday evening, I can then send the list in. Also could you please wear your club uniform shirt for the Guard of Honour, you will be warm in your car for the service, you can just take your shirt and quickly pop it on when required, that would look great. Can you please pass these details on to any members you know who may wish to pay their respects, and dont have emails, Thanks. Jackie
15.01.2022 Clubs SA and SAPOL have just announced we can now play social bowls, (no more than 10 people on the green at one time). Friday is looking far too hot so the club will be open Wednesday afternoon for a practice and the bar will be open to members, all drinks must be consumed seated. Social distancing and hygiene are all important after our scare this week and of course if you feel at all unwell, please do not come until you are better.

13.01.2022 Latest update from Bowls SA shows we will almost definitely be playing next week, so team managers for Night Owls, Thursday and Saturday pennants should start looking at their teams for the upcoming week. As far as known, fixtures will recommence from the dates this week, so the last 2 weeks will be simply missed. Further info to come regarding these missed games.

11.01.2022 Lawn bowls really is for everyone, hows this ?
11.01.2022 Well yesterday wasn’t a great day, with all 3 teams suffering losses, some larger than others. It happens, and we move on to next week....Yesterday was the first real warm/hot day we’ve had this season, and it really hit quite hard. There will be plenty more... Next Saturday, our Division 2 teams are playing against each other, so they have decided to make something of it and have a bit of a BBQ and sausage sizzle after the game. Div 1 will be away at Burra, but they can still eat when they get back.... More info will be posted on the team sheet later in the week.
11.01.2022 Please come along to see Jim off in style, he will be terribly missed by all the club.
10.01.2022 Another bowler lost....RIP Bill McDonald

05.01.2022 Hi again. Re Jimmys service on Friday... I had a couple of questions for the Funeral Director, Daniel, and so rung him this morning. ALL members in the Guard of Honour will have to stand 1.5m apart, even husbands and wives, due to the service being live streamed and obviously authorities will not know who is a couple etc.... As it is, I already have 23 people who wish to be part of the Guard, and with distances to be kept etc, the Funeral Director has suggested we cap the Honour Guard to the numbers I have now. I am sorry if anyone else really wanted to be involved, I may be able to squeeze another 1 or 2 but that would have to be it.
04.01.2022 Due to today’s government announcement, the club is now closed for the next 6 days, until the 25th November. The planned sausage sizzle set for Saturday is now postponed until further notice. Hopefully next week we will see some easing of restrictions, although we are still not sure when we wil be bowling again. Any updates will be emailed, texted to members and posted here. Stay safe everyone and we’ll see you on the other side...

If you are ok with using your phone, the first time you use the code, you will be asked for your name and address, after that, every time you scan it will be automatic and will only take a couple of seconds.
03.01.2022 After the Mid North Saturday AGM last Wednesday evening, the Saturday Pennant competition will begin on Saturday October 17th. Christmas break will be from December 19th - January 16th. Finals will be 13th, 20th and 27th March 2021. If you haven't sent your preferred playing days to the Secretary or President, ie. Jackie or Murray, can you please asap. At this stage we are entering 1 x Division 1 team and 2 x ... Division 2 teams See more
03.01.2022 well Im disappointed, restrictions are finally being eased, Yay, from June 19 and then June 29 nothing will change for our club. Until the 4sq metre rule is gone Im afraid we cannot have any extra people inside the club. I actually have to go and measure the interior dimensions of the clubhouse to see just how many we can have in there. Tables and chairs still have to be 1.5m apart which means we really dont have the capacity for many people at all. We can only hope that the 4sq m is lifted before October, otherwise the bowls season is going to be very difficult still.... In the meantime Ill measure the club and that will even dictate what we can do for our AGM......
03.01.2022 Get ready for the new season, these can change your game....ask Barry

01.01.2022 A bit of fun....
01.01.2022 just sat in on a zoom meeting from Bowls SA, latest info...yes we can have social games and practice sessions, NO formal training or games. Clarified only 10 people per green at a time, but up to 50 in the area waiting to play. A Covid Marshal must be present and contact tracing will now need to be done. A decision will be made next Monday, 1st December after clarification from government and health sources as to whether we can start our competitions back up. See ya Wednesday afternoon.....
