19.01.2022 FROM VISION IMPAIRMENT TO VISIONARY MUSIC PRODUCER AND DJ Music producer and SAE Byron Bay student Bashir Youssef believes you don’t need to have strong sight to have a strong vision. Bashir has a rare eyesight impairment due to retinitis pigmentosa, a genetic disorder that results in a breakdown and loss of cells in the retina, rendering him legally blind. Despite this, Bashir is about to graduate from the Diploma of Music Production at SAE Byron Bay; an achievement he h...as been able to realize with the support of Vision Australia. I had a mix of mature age wisdom and a new student/new discipline freshness. I also knew it was going to be challenging because of my sight, but my limitations do not mean that I’m limited - I don’t let them stop me from following my heart and living my dreams. 19.01.2022 The Northern Rivers could see a new, state of art film studio, with the proposal offering an alternative facility to the major four studios. The space will consist of two 1000 square metres sound stages, a full post-production facility and all of the building spaces, required for a film studio. This will be a fantastic opportunity for SAE student work placement, prospective student jobs and will give a huge injection of money into our local economy.

01.01.2022 SAE Australia has teamed up with Red Bull to bring SAE students a virtual masterclass with DJ / Producer Torren Foot. Hailing from Melbourne, Torren is one of the countries most in-demand touring club DJ's. He recently gained international attention following the release of 'More Life', a no.1 hit on Beatport for 5 weeks & has amassed over 5 million streams. In the masterclass session, Torren will deconstruct his record ‘More Life’, sharing the Ableton session & will take you... on a journey through all the elements of production- from sound design, sample use, to the more creative elements, like the use of effects and structure, which can turn a good idea into a great record.
