If you look carefully you can just see two furry bottoms through the port-holes in their carriers.They have gone to the best home and it's so good to know that they will be cared for and adored in their senior years. 06.05.2022 You can often find Macadamia running and playing with his sister, Walnut, or napping with her in the cutest positions. Before coming to SAFE, Macadamia sustained a head injury which left him with poor vision and deafness. But this hasn't stopped him enjoying life! He plays and explores like every other kitten, he loves being cuddled and purrs loudly in appreciation. Walnut has a sunny personality, is incredibly affectionate and loves company. She is a bundle of fun, mischie...vous and inquisitive. Walnut adores Macadamia, gives him support and encouragement and enjoys his company. These kittens fit together perfectly and are very bonded. 23.01.2022 Meet Diamond (*UPDATE Diamond has now been adopted*) and Hera. We have previously posted about those 2 beautiful souls to try and re- home them together but have since discovered that they are quite happy by themselves. They are 1.5/2.5 years old and have now been with us for 8 months and are longing to have a forever home where they are loved and have space to run around. Both of them have become accustomed to a very confined space and it would probably take them a little bit of time getting used to a new home but you will be rewarded with lots of love eventually. Diamond is the more confident one of the two and can get a bit over excited when food is on offer but both are absolutely gorgeous. 21.01.2022 This is Lovely Layla who has been adopted by Fabulous Federica! Layla is extremely shy & so this is a special adoption as patient, understanding people like Federica don't come along very often. I have been fostering Layla for a few months & she has made enormous strides. Little by little she started to trust me enough to let me stroke her & it was so rewarding to be greeted by her when I went into her room. It's so important for these precious ones to have a place they fe...el safe in so if you get a new cat please make sure you keep them contained in a room for at least a few weeks. The only thing I hadn't managed to do was get Layla confident to go into her carrier. We can all learn from this - don't store the carrier in the garage. If the only time you put your pet into it is when they go to the vet they will avoid it like the plague! Leave it in the room, take the top off & give your cat treats in it. That way it's 99% a good place to be! We wish Layla & Federica a wonderful future together! Sue See more

20.01.2022 We are very excited that during the last 3 years we have rehomed 306 cats/kittens, 12 dogs and 2 roosters, including Big Ginge and Bosley. Thanks go to everyone who helped us on the way. You ain't seen nothing yet!!

19.01.2022 Layla is a very shy cat who we socialised in foster care. Happily she was adopted this week and we have an update from her new guardian Federica. "Layla is adapting pretty well to the new environment! I followed your advice and let her alone most of the time but she started coming towards me almost immediately. She's very sweet and I'm letting her set the pace. She eats from my hand, kisses my face and wants me to scratch her under her chin! Tonight when I entered the room she took possession of my hand and wanted to sleep on it! She is still exploring the room and it will take time before she's ready to explore the rest of the house, but things are going very well! "

18.01.2022 We are over the moon because Hera has been adopted! A lovely couple who were looking for an independent cat have taken her home with them. Hera has been with us for a while but we're sure it was worth the wait & they'll all be very happy together!

17.01.2022 Have you noticed that we haven't had any dogs available for adoption recently? This is because our foster carers have fallen in love with their foster dogs and adopted them! 16.01.2022 August 31st marks one year since we established our cattery SAFE Haven. Since that time we have taken 170 cats into care. That's an average of over 3 per week- pretty good going for a small charity run totally by volunteers. As with all young kittens, Myra needs a loving and patient environment in order to grow into a loving healthy adult who could be around for the next 20+ years! She is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations.

Cooper (right) is the most confident and outgoing of the 3. He loves exploring and being patted. Lily (top left) is a little bit reserved at first but loves a good play, so playing with her will be a good way to get her to come out of her shell. ... Chloe (bottom left) is very shy. 06.01.2022 This is the beautiful Tessa who was adopted from SAFE back in May. She came to us with very young kittens and was a darling right from the start. Roslyn was fortunate to become her new guardian and recently bought a SAFE Calendar. Apparently Tessa enjoyed looking at it as she could see some of the other animals from SAFE. Roslyn says "I have far too many photos of Tessa as she is just too cute and entertaining". She calls her Princess Tessa & you can see why....

05.01.2022 Meet little Harley (top) and Harry (bottom). They are 8 months old and have been at SAFE since the age of 2 weeks. They are still very nervous around people, especially Harry. When they get the chance to go in our play enclosure they love playing and whilst they are playing they tend to forget that people are scary to them and enjoy playtime. They so deserve to be in a beautiful home with a bit of space to run around in and a beautiful human(s) who has a bit of time to play with them and show them that humans can be fun and loving.
