18.01.2022 A good catchup with the Napranum Safe House Reference Group and staff members. Some great discussions around the important supporting role that the Napranum Reference Group members play in keeping kids safe and that Child Protection is everyones business.

15.01.2022 It was great to be able to visit Aurukun again and speak with some members of the Aurukun Safe House Reference Group. Johnathon, Harriet and Kenlock are an inspiration to their community and help guide Act for Kids to ensure children from the Aurukun community are cared for in a culturally appropriate manner. Operations Manager Massimo Zaini was finally able to present photographs to Reference Group members from the Governor General’s visit to the Aurukun Safe House where he got to meet Reference Group members and also got to play some footy with the children!

12.01.2022 "We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice" On this day every year we celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Childrens Day. The date August 4th was historically used to communally celebrate the birthdays of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were taken from their families at a young age, without knowing their birthday the Stolen Generations....
