11.01.2022 FIRE PROTECTION DURING CORONAVIRUS SHUTDOWNS Posted on : Monday, 23 March 2020 FPA Australia is working with all levels of government to advocate for and clarify fire protection's position as an 'essential service'.... The Association's position is that the current shutdowns, as of midday Monday 23 March, do not apply to fire protection services. Fire protection or related categories of work have not been listed in any jurisdiction as one of the types of businesses included in the shutdowns. We are speaking with state/territory and federal government to clarify this position, and we also advocate for fire protection work to be specifically listed as an essential service. FPA Australia does not believe it is either necessary or in the community's interest to sacrifice fire safety in an effort to minimise coronavirus risks. http://www.fpaa.com.au//fire-protection-during-coronavirus
