23.01.2022 We have Water!!!! For a couple of years now the community of Ambohidanerana have only had a water flow for a short time, every few days or so. Howard from the R...otary club, an experienced hydro geologist came and worked out the most effective route for a new source pipeline. He didn’t just help install it and go, he trained up our staff to do successful future installations as well. Thank you for the community involvement in digging the trench for the pipeline and the very generous $19,723 from Gosford North Rotary Club! Diary had to drive through the protest to a...ttend her first meeting with Thrive Disability Support Group, a new program starting this year. She got there safely and the meeting went really well. 12.01.2022 When I was 9 years old, I had severe diarrhoea followed by very painful cramps for around six months. I lost weight dramatically. I had to be carried to school ...as I couldn't walk. Eventually, I had to stop going because of my lack of strength. I saw several doctors and was treated with different kinds of medicines when I finally ended up in a hospital to simply find out that I had worms. It literally took one pill to save my life. This is the story of a typical Malagasy childhood. 09.01.2022 We are delighted to report on construction progress for the toilet and shower block at our Multi-Function Community Centre in Ambohidanerana (Soav). Our deepest... gratitude goes to Gosford North Rotary Club (GNRC), Sue O’Neill and Woy Woy Rotary Club for providing the funds to kick-start this vital project. Construction of the toilet and shower block was made possible with spare funds remaining from their generous donation to Thrive’s Community Health program. 06.01.2022 Many rural communities in Madagascar face significant barriers to accessing quality health care, and it is our goal to overcome these barriers. One such way is ...through the introduction of our new Pregnancy Ultrasound Clinic in Ambohidanerana. Thrive health staff and local health workers have been trained to perform pregnancy ultrasound, allowing local women access to free, quality health care to improve outcomes for mums and bubs in the area.
