17.01.2022 Due to changes in his new owners circumstances, Littlefoot is now available Andalusian Anglo mix gelding, 7 months old. Should mature Galloway size. Greying out. Littlefoot is a sweet and kind little man, but he has a lot of personality too! Nicely put together behind his fuzz, currently stabled and handled daily. Before he leaves he will lead, tie, pick up feet, load onto a float and have manners installed :)... Tons of fun to work with, would love to see him with someone who has time to put into him, he will absolutely flourish! $2200

14.01.2022 IS YOUR HORSE FED APPROPRIATELY? How's this for a visual you won't soon forget? This is how much stomach acid a horse's body produces each day. Two standard buc...kets full. Why does this matter? Your chosen feeding practices can have a direct impact on whether this stomach acid is beneficial to the horse's well-being, or not. Horses produce saliva when they chew; the more the horse chews, the more saliva is produced. If horses have access to ad-lib forage (hay or pasture), they will produce two buckets of saliva each day. Saliva serves a few purposes in the digestion process, one of which is to help buffer stomach acid. On the other hand, horses who are fed set feedings, with imposed fasting in between, have greatly limited chew time. They can't produce this same volume of saliva. The horse's stomach is relatively small, and only lined with a protective coating on the lower two-thirds. Excess and 'unemployed' acid can splash up onto the unprotected top third of an empty stomach, resulting in pain, ulcers, and psychological distress for the horse. Such discomfort is a common cause of aggression at feeding time. Regardless of the amount of chew time a horse has each day, his body still produces these two buckets of stomach acid 1.5 litres every hour, 24 hours a day. It is our responsibility as the horse's caretaker to maximize 'chew time', and feed the horse as they have evolved to eat. What can you do to increase your horse's chew time, balancing out these buckets so-to-speak? PS. If your horse has metabolic issues, consult with a qualified equine nutritionist to find a hay with an appropriate nutritional profile that can be consumed ad lib. And watch how you carry those buckets! 04.01.2022 I wouldnt know where to begin with my gratefulness of Chris & Ashley. My daughter suffers badly from anxiety, she also has Autism. Horses have literally saved h...er. At the time she hadnt seen horses for a while and was struggling badly. A mutual friend recommended them and I cant look back. She has come SO far, shes now so confident, she believes in herself, shes so beyond excited to see just Ashley & Chris as well as the horses (this means alot as trust is a big thing for her). What they have done for my child I could never put into words to express my gratitude, for not only what they have done for her but my whole family, their acceptance, love, motivation & coaching means the world Her smile says it all See more

04.01.2022 I don’t usually do New Year’s (or really any holiday) posts BUT I need to thank everyone who has employed us, liked our pages, shared our posts, said nice things about what we do and/or supported us in any way. This was an incredibly hard year for us, beside all the global goings on ( aren’t we lucky here in Albany ) we had huge life changes, business changes, health issues and some very very tough and sad circumstances, which have taken a toll on both of us, our kids, and ...close friends. Safin Equestrian, our wonderful clients who we consider friends, and ours and our clients horses have kept us going. Even more so, the kids that we coach. Seeing ‘our’ kids light up when they hug a horse, have their first canter, learn to lead, pick up their first hoof and fall in love with the sport is nothing short of magic to us We still have a lot of challenges to face in 2021, and I know we will struggle, but the energy of a new year has to help Everyone stay safe - tonight and always
