A word that - previously I'd use as a way to describe some fancy footwork manoeuvring in a game of netball - has taken on a whole new meaning for small biz', just like mine, during COVID. ... Over the last six months as a business owner, I've consistently been in awe of the small business community here in Melbourne; their tenacity to adapt to the times has served as inspiration to me as a business owner myself. 20.01.2022 Roll out the red carpet, the 2020 'Golden Robe' award goes to: Maya + Jada . For their outstanding service to making it perfectly acceptable to wear a robe both in AND outta' the house. Jeans, PJ's, dresses..... our new Jacquard robes are Jack-Of-All-Trades when it comes to styling; perfectly suited to lounging around the house, but equally at home with getting outta' the house + onto the street. Cinch in the waist with the accompanying tie to create shape, or wear undone ...for a relaxed outer-layer (cost per wear justification: HIGH). 16.01.2022 It was being pregnant with Heidi that made me more conscious about what I was putting both in (except for Nutella, that stuff's going nowhere) *and* on my body One look on the back of the package of my then-skincare told me I was - unwittingly - putting a lot more nastie pasties onto my skin than I would like . Temple: my long-standing apology to you remains !... In my quest to start being a little kinder to my body, I stumbled upon the 100% all-natural, retro-vibed Canadian brand, @livinglibationsvenice. 08.01.2022 Remember those inflatable chairs and sofas you could buy?! I think it was circa 2000’s and I’d save up my $6.80 an hour from my shifts at Burger King... first I’d buy the chair, then the 2-seat sofa, then the little side table until I had the full ‘lounge suite’. Of course then they’d bring out a new colour or put colourful balls inside or add sparkling glitter and I’d really feel the pressure to upgrade Or I’d invite a friend over and they’d sit on it and inadvertently pop... it with their studded jeans. Oh the devastation I’ve learnt a few things since then. And now I’ve created a brand that makes what I *hope* are lasting, cherished pieces. Notice dishwasher is full of clean dishes Empty dishwasher (with grumpy + loud resentment) Put dirty cups in (and the other dirty dishes currently sitting in sink), complete with an extra dose of huffy puffy resentment + draw slamming Wipe down bench Notice bill on kitchen bench that needs to be paid Pay bill Wish I'd never seen bank balance Ponder what it would be like to live off-the-grid Check Insta, FB, Email, ASOS saved items + buy book titled 'how to live in a tent full time'. Now feel like a cup of tea Turn kettle on Get favourite (and clean) cup Realise there's no tea left Go to bed 46 minutes later, deciding tomorrow night the lights can be left on (clearly the 'livin' off the grid' caper probably won't work for me ?!).

03.01.2022 Our recently-shot linen campaign was supposed to take place in Gippsland, at the most beautiful bushland hideaway (don't worry, we're still coming for you - one day!). First the bushfires, then a global pandemic lockdown, meant we had to re-think the whole thing #gowiththeflow #mynewlifegoal. And then bingo ... I remembered the most ah-mazing original MCM home just a hop-skip-and-(in my case!)-hobble from my house in leafy North Warrandyte. Now, this is a home that I've lon...g since admired after having a good little sticky beak at it when it went to auction last year (yes I'm a nosy parker). I've been scheming up how I can befriend the new lucky owners so I can invite myself over for tea... and of course, just stare at their home, again (not creepy. at all.). On second thoughts, perhaps I could book in a photoshoot instead? Admittedly, a far less creepy option. So book it, we did. And, we gotta say, we're prouder than ever with the results. It doesn't just mark our foray into new imagery, new-and-improved linen, and new colours. It marks the beauty of home, the celebration of teamwork, and the solidarity we felt in achieving this one small, and at times, impossible goal.
