I tried to think about what it is like as a kid to explore the beach and find some weird looking things washed up on the shore. The ocean is full of so many, almost alien like plants and animals, it has always been so magical and fascinating to me

12.01.2022 FEATURING PLATES: Up until about a year ago I used to hate making plates on the wheel, now I absolutely love it, the look is so much cleaner then making plates from a slab like I used to. When making a plate on the wheel there is absolutely no room for error, every step has to be done properly as any wobbles get amplified when you open up the shape, and with such a large base and rim extra care has to taken when compressing the clay, they also take up more room in the kiln th...en you would think. They are needy from start to finish, basically the pop stars of the pottery world, and like pop stars, a good plates has the ability to steal the show in any setting. In short, plates rule!!!

09.01.2022 So Ive pretty much buried my head in the sand since having to shut down the studio due to all this coronavirus business. Nevertheless cest la vie so Im back at it as of next week. After a few weeks of a mild freak out Im going to be back at the studio full time from Wednesday for people to pick up work they made in classes and so I can send out online orders Im also joining the 200 club, which means Im going to commit to supporting other artists during this time, so for every $1000 the studio makes in lockdown Im going to spend $200 on other artists
