14.01.2022 2021 NAIDOC Rene Archer Indigenous Round at Cairns Hockey is this Friday. Saints Hockey would like to invite all players past and present, parents, partners and family to come and support on Friday. Below is the run sheet for the afternoon. 3pm - 4pm - P-4 arrive to play their games. 4pm 5.15pm - Games played and conclude ... 5.15 - 630pm Activities boomerang painting, lantern painting and face painting available Invitation for people to watch the ceremony AV screens etc and it will also be live streamed through facebook on your phones and tablet Official Ceremonies Welcome to country/smoking ceremony and didgeridoo- approx. 20 min the teams/volunteers and umpires and officials are invited to be in the area so they can experience the smoking ceremony Move the focus to the Reef Turf near the clubhouse where traditional Torres St Island dancers from Boigu Island will celebrate the Torres St Island culture this will last 10 minutes teams will create a border around the dancers 6.30pm - Dancers will finish and as the dancers move away start warming up for the game 6.45pm - Game starts

They managed to get all their games in before lockdown became an issue! The young ladies and gents have done themselves, their families, their Club and their Association proud! 08.01.2022 Congratulations to our U18 men and A grade women for two games of incredible, effort and determination last night. We may not have come out the victors... but we sure as heck kept the opposition on their toes and pushed them all to their limits. You should all hold your heads high, well done. To the coaches, managers and support personnel, thank you for your guidance, skills and knowledge to get the players through the season.
