21.05.2022 It’s a long weekend for some but not for me! Class is on tomorrow at the GLC 9.20 hatha flow and 10.15 on Monday is yin. Also, next weekend is the Kirtan and yoga workshop in Margaret River. Would be great to see some of my yogis there. I can confirm it’s such a good evening spent with like minded people allowing us to deepen our spiritual practice. Also we get fed the most delicious vegan food! It is well worth the $30 for an awesome experience.... I am heading down so happy to car pool if you’d like a lift! Let me know if you’d like to come along See more

23.01.2022 This time away from normal life has given me lots of time to try new classes with new teachers. Today I completed this practice lead by Daniel Rama. Some parts I enjoyed, other parts I didnt enjoy. Personal practice gives me an opportunity to consolidate what I like in a yoga teacher and what I am not so fond of, which I can then share, or not, in my teachings. ... Today I gave halasana a miss on account of my dodgy cervical spine and opted for viparita karani instead. Also turns out Daniel is incredibly flexible, so I chose to use some blocks for forehead support in forward folds and took it easy in ustrasana This class was quite a bit faster than how I teach but give it a go and see if it resonates with you https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6b1Sz27m-TA

22.01.2022 Absolutely beautiful.. There is no perfect but there is years and years of dedicated practice https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SZCxKjgReQ4

22.01.2022 And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. "And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. "And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed." ~Kitty O'Meara

20.01.2022 There is a hectic vibe in the community at the moment.. Tomorrow I have a really calming meditation and yin class planned. We will use bolsters to surrender into the poses and just be with ourselves. And fear not, there is hand sanitiser and antibacterial spray at the glc for all to use. Give yourself permission to remove yourself from the hysteria and take some time for self care ... 10.15 GLC Monday Morning

20.01.2022 One of the best things about yoga is there is never any judgement, and never any competition. Yay That is why I am a huge fan of blocks and other props. Of course injuries and chronic pain can occur in other ways, but why risk it in yoga. All of my classes show options and modifications for all bodies Sunday 9.20 Hatha Vinyasa Monday 10.15 Yin... Both classes at the Geographe Leisure Centre See more

20.01.2022 Gayatri Mantra brings me right back to my yoga teacher training at the Sivananda Ashram in Fremantle. Each morning we would gather at 5.30 for a kirtan/chanting and meditation session. Each mantra (instrument of the mind) was said to uncover our own true nature. Gayatri Mantra, the mantra of divine light, is one of my favourites. It reads:... Om Bhur bhuvah svah tat savitur verenyam bhargo devasya dhimahi dhiyo yo nah prachodayat The eternal, earth, air, heaven That glory, that resplendence of the sun May we contemplate the brilliance of that light May the sun inspire our minds I hope you find some peace today. Namaste https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0_sZXJKtwU8

20.01.2022 As the weekend draws to a close we are faced with the possibilities of the coming week... We need to make choices that nourish our body our mind and our spirits in order to feel peace within and then extend that peace to all other living beings. How can I be more kind? How can I be more loving? ... Public offerings for this week at the GLC include: Monday 10.15 Yin Thursday 10.00 Yin Sunday 9.20 Hatha Vinyasa And of course, private classes are on as usual For me, my Sunday afternoon includes spending some time with our beautiful boy Wilson , drinking some chai and setting my intention for the week Namaste beautiful yogis

19.01.2022 This was my back exactly a year ago to the day I have now been in chronic pain for 6.5 years. Yep.. 2,400 days in a row of waking up in pain, and going to bed in pain. Its a tough old gig. I can honestly say that throughout this journey yoga has been my saviour. In fact, I once went to a pain psychologist who charged $300 for a half hour session who told me to try deep breathing If you dont laugh you cry. On the up side, if you come to one of my yoga classes with ...a sore neck/shoulders/back I can give you every modification under the sun to find comfort. Move mindfully, breathe deeply, and find the beauty in life

19.01.2022 These last few weeks have been strange for all.. life and plans are changing so quickly. This Friday at 10.15 over at the city of Busselton fitness services will be my last class for a little while. Itll be a vinyasa flow and I hope you can join in live or check in afterwards. Turns out my final placement for uni has been rescheduled and restarted so in just over 5 weeks I will be completely done with my degree and will be a qualified high school teacher ... And who knows, maybe by then the GLC will be back in action and classes in full swing. In the mean time, keep well and I hope you can join me on Friday

18.01.2022 Today has been a hard day.. the realities of the next few months have hit home. I do not know one person who hasnt been effected by the pandemic. For me, I have temporarily lost my job, my husbands FIFO roster has been doubled so hell be away for twice as long, my final placement for university before graduation has been terminated, and I am worried that my MRI, EMG and trigger point injections for my chronic pain will be cancelled leaving me in immense pain for many month...s.. Sigh.. So this afternoon I got pissed off with the world and then took a spin class (with all my friends ) before realising some things.. When all this blows over I will still be able to do my absolute favourite thing - teach yoga. Blake is away for twice as long but also home for twice as long. My final placement and graduation will be waiting for me when this all blows over. And how lucky am I to have some of Perths best neurologists and pain specialists working with me to help my chronic pain. So I pulled a buddha card and it read You are never alone or helpless. The force that guides the stars guides you too We will get through these tough times together. In the mean time we will breathe

18.01.2022 Hey yogis, hope youre all doing well Even though the weather in Busselton may not be the best, its so important to connect with mother nature and ground yourself. Even if thats just standing on the grass for a few minutes a day in between the rain showers! Today Blake and I walked along beautiful 80 mile beach collecting shells, then watched the sun set. Absolutely amazing Tomorrow were off to Karijini to explore the gorges

08.01.2022 Today I have been busy planning some new yin classes Ive decided to sequence around the 8 limbed yogic path set out by the ancient yogic sage Patanjali in the yoga sutras. Today Ive planned all 5 of the yamas - moral restraints, and all 5 of the niyamas - observances ... This leaves me with the following limbs to sequence asana - postures pranayama - breathing pratyahara - withdrawing the senses dharana - concentration dhyana - meditation and samadhi - pure bliss I hope to share these classes with you when the world turns to back to normal, and guide you through the foundations of yoga beyond the asana Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo

05.01.2022 Wilson loves that life has slowed down at the moment. He loves getting all day cuddles and having company around all the time Why dont you take some time to slow down next Monday when I teach a live vinyasa flow at 10.15 over at the City of Busselton Fitness Services page

05.01.2022 Check it out yogis, Ive got a yin yoga class for you Ive sequenced this class against the wall so that you dont need to worry about props. One thing that might enhance your practice is a pillow to put under your head if you feel that may be nice for you Hold the poses for 3-5 minutes each and soak up the magic that is yin yoga... Remember Find your appropriate edge - that place in which you feel deep and sometimes uncomfortable sensations in the body. This is good! It means we are targeting the fascia. However never push past your edge to the point of pain Keep your muscles soft and relaxed to target the deep connective tissues Remain in stillness for 3-5 minutes When you come out, move slowly and mindfully with awareness of how youre feeling. Notice the rebound and take any movement you need before moving to the next pose Hope you enjoy! Let me know how you go Namaste

Monday 10.15 we’ll make our way through a yin practice focussed on Saucha - cleanliness and purity the first of the yamas - internal observances I’ve had a lot of comments on my music lately, which is great because I do spend a lot of time searching through spotify to find music that will compliment our practice.
