21.01.2022 Dental Floss. A great way to get in between your teeth and remove the debris that your toothbrush cannot reach. You should be flossing every day, or at least 3 times a week. Anything is better than not flossing at all. However dental floss has a heap of non-dental related uses. ... - Tie up a roast - Use as an emergency shoe lace - Hang pictures - String it up to hang greeting cards over - Hang baubles on your Christmas Tree Do you have any other ideas about how we can use dental floss?

21.01.2022 The 4 steps to better dental health. With dental health week underway, we hope these steps provide some good advice.

18.01.2022 Today is international left handers day. Why might Salamanca Dental be promoting this? Well because so many of our staff are left handed.... So thanks to Ricki, Stacey, Jaz and Rod, our amazing left handers for being part of our wonderful team.

18.01.2022 Dental Health Week 2020 is focusing on how much hidden sugar is in products we buy. For example, did you realise tomato sauce has a high sugar content?

16.01.2022 Next Wednesday. 7th October. The road in front of Parliament House will be closed in the AM. Council are inspecting all the trees and removing branches as needed. This may impact traffic access and around Salamanca Place. Salamanca Dental suggests if you have an appointment with us, that you allow an extra few minutes to deal with possible traffic congestion in the area.

14.01.2022 Dental health week and we are focusing on sugar. When you eat or drink something with sugar in it, in your mouth the bacteria present interact with the sugar and create an acidic environment. It is a balancing act to ensure this does not result in decay.

13.01.2022 Following on from yesterday's post. Did you know the answer? The answer is tooth decay. Often we do not see teeth decay as a disease. However there are links between teeth and gum health and many other diseases, including heart disease. If you are over-due for you dental check-up, give us a call: 6288 8070

12.01.2022 Our dental waste recycling partner has given us some great news regarding 2020. 4.4 million pieces of waste dental product packaging was diverted from landfill across Australia and New Zealand in 2020. Salamanca Dental has a bin in our patient lounge. Please drop-off your empty toothpaste tubes, old toothbrushes, interdental brushes and flossers. We can also accept mouth wash bottles and all the packaging these come in.... Help us ensure your dental care waste is turned into park benches and more, rather than going to landfill.

12.01.2022 5 weeks from today and it will be Christmas Eve. How will Christmas be for you this year?

11.01.2022 It is 'non' Hobart Show Day. So here is a a funny farm animal video to give you a laugh. Have a great day, no matter what you are doing. https://youtu.be/qvLiGZaUtWY

10.01.2022 stay safe out there everyone.

10.01.2022 What type of brusher are you? 1. Rockstar. You treat your toothbrush as a microphone. 2. Dreamer. You are thinking about the future and your toothbrush really isn't being consciously thought about. ... 3. The slob. As much toothpaste ends up around your face and on your hands, as there is in your mouth. 4. The multitasker. You roam the house doing other chores while brushing. 5. The speeder. You brush as fast as you can so you can get it over and done with. 6. The focused. You have a routine, you start in the same part of your mouth everyday. If you get interrupted you hate having to remember where you got up to. If you do not fit any of the above, please tell us what type of brusher you are.

10.01.2022 2020 has certainly been a challenge we all did not expect. Salamanca Dental would like to say THANK YOU to each and every patient. 08.01.2022 Happy Australia Day everyone. Australia Day means so many different things. Whether it is a time of celebration or reflection, we hope you get to do things that are important to you, with the people that are important to you.

08.01.2022 Just a little 'housekeeping' from us today. Hobart City Council is installing a zebra crossing outside Irish Murphy's on Salamanca Place today. there will be road closures at that intersection of up to 5 minutes at a time, during today. And... Hobart City Council is changing the traffic flow on the corner of Montpelier Retreat and Salamanca Place today (Whaler/Retro cafe intersection). All traffic coming down Montpelier will now have to give-way to all traffic already on Salamanca Place (basically a T-intersection from now on). Previously traffic on Montpelier Retreat had right of way, and traffic on Salamanca Place had to give way. So there are some permanent traffic changes beginning today in our area, and works to achieve these will disrupt traffic for today. Have a great weekend everyone.

08.01.2022 One more month and daylight savings starts. What are you looking forward to doing with the extra daylight at the end of each day?

She has completed her therapy dog training, alongside Dr Marta Bauk (her handler).... Salamanca Dental is the first dental practice in Tasmania and only one of a handful of dental practices Australia wide to have a fully certified therapy dog. Poppy can provide relaxation support during your dental appointment. When Poppy is working, patients will be given the opportunity to have Poppy in the room with them for part of their appointment. Poppy is allowed to work a maximum of 5 hours per day, so she may or may not be at Salamanca Dental when you visit us. We hope you will join us in welcoming Poppy to Salamanca Dental. Poppy is photographed with a patient and our Trainee Dental assistant, Liam.

03.01.2022 Salamanca Dental has a big announcement to make... soon. A first for dental practices in Tasmania, and we will be one of only a few in Australia offering this service. It has taken us 6 months to be fully trained and accredited to offer this to our patients. For now, we have to keep it our little secret as we are finalising equipment, however, one day soon, we will be able to announce it. Keep an eye on our facebook page.
