09.01.2022 2020, what a year to be alive! We started off the year with a bang with all of the great local businesses supporting us with our very succesful "Shave to Save" campaign where Christian and Liam bravely shaved their hair off! Then... Covid19 hit It forced everyone into their homes, and we were busier than ever working day in and out to ensure everyone had their essential medications and supplies. We ran out of items we never thought we would - hand sanitizer, masks and ...toilet paper. As a community, we have grown stronger than ever! We are so proud to be part of the Port Stephens community, a wonderful community. Thank you all for your support in 2020. 05.01.2022 Cholesterol: How to lower Cholesterol Heart disease is the number 1 killer in Australia. It is mainly due to a clogging up of the arteries by a fatty substance, which occurs when there is too much fat in the blood. This is a highly significant process called atherosclerosis- which is a condition that can lead to stroke or heart attack. Golden rules to reduce cholesterol:... 1. Maintain your ideal body weight 2. Eat a high fibre diet 3. Eat fish at least twice weekly 4. Limit fast food to once a week or less 5. Avoid deep-fried food 6. Engage in regular exercise (eg: 30 min of brisk walking daily 5 x a week) 7. Always trim fat off meat 8. Avoid biscuits between meals 9. Drink water (2-3L water daily). Reduce soft drink intake 10. Do not smoke 11. Limit consumption of alcohol 12. Limit cheese, butter and icecream to no more than twice a week 13.
