22.01.2022 My favourite wedding day moments: 1. The arrival of the guest(s) of honour. Excitement levels are extremely high at this moment.... 2. The processional. I love observing all the emotions the entrance elicits. Tears are especially wonderful. 3. Laughing with my couple and their guests throughout the ceremony. Because marriage ceremonies should ALWAYS be enjoyable. 4. The certificate signing. A time for a quick and animated ceremony debrief before the couple becomes swamped by their family and friends. It's also lovely to watch the couple interact with their witnesses (especially when the witnesses are their mums). I adore the way @jessicaabbyphotography captured these moments at Alexandra and Jake's @two_ton_max ceremony. Excellent work lady! 05.01.2022 ** BLATANT PLUG POST ** Forgive this completely non-wedding related post, but I wanted to share some news. Mia, Harper and I have been working on a little COVID project over the past few months and we’d love your support.... Introducing Hughes and Daughters - a passion project that combines my love of scented candles (my favourite indulgence) and my desire to find a rewarding activity the girls and I can enjoy together. For the past few months I’ve loved teaching them about basic bookkeeping, procurement, R&D, design, marketing and why we shouldn’t point infra red thermometers in one another’s faces. Together we’ve learned about fragrance loading, melting points, frosting, glass adhesion and tunnelling. We’ve been (mostly) patient while waiting weeks on end for stock, we’ve persevered when fragrance throws weren’t as strong as we’d hoped for and we’ve loved compiling a list of charities to donate a percentage of our profits to.
