25.01.2022 A GOOD LIFE: Is not lived by chance but by choice! Mmmmm what does this mean to you? To me, it means to keep going, keep learning, keep trying, keep striving to be the best version of myself - in all aspects of my life. I also have to remind myself that I don't know everything, that I am still learning and that' its ok to say 'I don't know the answer to that!'. ... Feel free to share what this means to you in your life and on your path...... comment below or DM me to discuss See more

24.01.2022 As we head into Christmas, things are crazy busy, we all have our own agendas and the 'busy' can take over, remember that kindness costs nothing and can make someone's day. What was your act of kindness today?

22.01.2022 MORE LAUGHS - we totally need more laughs, don't we? Sometimes it doesn't take much - especially if you have someone around you to make you laugh MORE SMILES - we smile when we are happy but it's free to smile at someone whilst you are on your walk, doing the shopping, or as a thank you for your coffee or tea in the morning MORE LOVE - we can never have too much love, can we? We could also give a little more love I am sure we have spare. What's making you laugh or smile at the moment? Feel free to comment below

21.01.2022 STEPPING STONES OR STUMBLING BLOCKS? Right now I choose stepping stones! This 'break' from face to face appointments with my fabulous patients is teaching me a lot. Its made me realise I miss the face to face, however, I also have realised the importance of continuing to see them on Zoom - touching base to see they are ok and ensuring their health is still a priority. It's a good thing! What have your stepping stones been in the last few weeks? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss

21.01.2022 LOCKDOWN UPDATE: With a heavy heart, we decided to close the clinic to face to face visits until the end of this latest lockdown. I am still very much here to support you, my wonderful patients! Currently working through the list and calling all of you who have scheduled appointments in the next 6 weeks so we can arrange Telehealth or phone consult. Now more than ever it's important to continue to look after your overall health and wellbeing! ... I can still send your medicines and supplements. Email me and we can make arrangements for you. You can also contact me via my website. Remember to keep smiling (through your mask) and we will get to the other side of this Yours in good health, Sally See more

20.01.2022 FOOD CHOICES IN PERI AND MENO: What we eat is such an integral part of our lives - it has a direct relationship on our overall health. How well we eat affects our digestion, metabolism, detoxification, absorption of nutrients, gut microbiome, cardiovascular health, mental health and hormone health. This list could go on and on. A healthy varied diet is the key to life really (oh and good sleep! ). During hormonal the change of perimenopause and menopause its especially impor...tant to get all the nutrients you need to support your body. Phytoestrogenic foods such as tofu, soybeans, tempeh crushed flaxseeds, sesame seeds, chickpeas and lentils have oestrogen modulating abilities. Cruciferous veggies, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and Brussels sprouts support the hormone detoxification pathways. Berries for the polyphenols and antioxidant content to support cardiovascular health, decrease oxidative stress and inflammation. Oily fish like Salmon and nuts and seeds such as walnuts, almonds and brazil nuts for Omega fatty acids which also support cardiovascular health. Are you eating a varied diet? What are you doing to ensure your body gets what it needs during peri and menopause? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss

16.01.2022 VITAMIN D - There are some foods you can get Vitamin D from like salmon and sardines, there are trace amounts in beef, liver, cheese and egg yolks, and some foods are fortified with Vitamin D like cereals, milk and orange juice. The best form of Vitamin D is sunlight! Clearly, at this time of the year, there isn't going to be a lot of sunlight around where you want to expose your arms and legs due to the temperature so supplementation is the way to go. Whilst we t...hink of Vitamin D as being for Bone health, studies have shown that Vitamin D can also have a positive effect on the immune system, digestion and brain health (mood and depression). Vitamin D is present at the oestrogen receptor sites supporting oestrogen activation. Insufficient Low Vitamin D levels may be associated with lowered oestrogen thus making Vitamin D supplementation during perimenopause and menopause an important consideration. Do you know what your Vitamin D level should be at? Feel free to comment below See more

13.01.2022 LIVE FULLY: How many of us can say that we do Love Generously, Praise Loudly and Live Fully? I definitely try to love generously and praise loudly but I have to think about living fully. What does this mean? Does it mean to treat every day like a gift, to dance like no one is watching, to love like you have never been hurt, to sing like no one is listening? At the moment I am doing a 21-day Abundance meditation series and I am enjoying it so far ...- it's like making plans for the future and how you wish for it to unfold. I cant wait to see what happens and I intend to live each day fully as it happens. What does this saying mean to you? Feel free to comment below, I look forward to hearing your thoughts. See more

12.01.2022 ANXIETY caused by a hormonal imbalance - is it a thing? I am certainly seeing this in my Peri and Menopausal patients for sure. As Oestrogen and Progesterone decrease during Peri-Menopause this causes physical symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, insomnia, palpitations, fatigue, mood swings and headaches. This hormonal imbalance can also contribute to psychological symptoms such as anxiety, depression and insomnia. A combination of any of these can caus...e discomfort and distress and decrease quality of life during this time. I read a recent study (2019) that concluded practising mindfulness meditation as little as 3 x a week had a positive effect on Peri Menopausal symptoms - anxiety, (improved 69%) depression (improved 64%) and sleep disorders (improved 75%) after an 8 week period. Imagine what might happen if you practised daily! The length of the medications in this study was 40 minutes a session. Are you practising any form of mindfulness meditation? How is it supporting you during Peri-Menopause? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss See more

11.01.2022 EVERYDAY! Keeping a good routine for your self-care, your food choices and your exercise regime are vital to keeping your mental health on track during a health crisis and if we are honest, through life in general! It means being flexible and I have found that to be a big challenge - juggling the weeks as they unfold and continually moving things around to fit everything in - not because I have to because I want to. In the end, as long as you are doing something every day to support your wellbeing then the results will speak for themselves. What do you do every day to support yourself? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss

11.01.2022 Not much else to say really. Every day matters and let's do the best we can for our long, healthy and happy future. What are you doing today that will affect your future? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss.

10.01.2022 THE OTHER SIDE? Are we nearly there yet? How are you feeling about us coming to the other side of this health crisis? I have been lucky enough to continue to see patients through the COVID-19 pandemic and what I am hearing is that not everyone is ready to go back to the way it was. It's going to take some time and I kind of agree. Little by little things will get back to the way they were but we probably have to consider that life may not look entirely th...e same. Many people have gone back to restaurants with bookings in time regulated slots, many were away camping on the long weekend whilst still social distancing, some people have gone back to work and many are still at home. One positive out of the social distancing is that as at last week Influenza cases are down! I fully intend on continuing to take care of my patients immune systems during this winter and to keep up the hand washing and sanitising in the clinic so that not only are we staying on top of COVID and Flu - we are also staying well! How are you feeling this week about what lies ahead? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss See more

10.01.2022 WISE WOMEN IN CHANGE: In Change? I mean hormone changes. I have many patients who are Perimenopausal and Menopausal who need extra support during this time of their lives. Not enough of us are really talking about the symptoms we are dealing with so, I want this to be a space where you can (or just DM me for a chat about it!) What does it mean to me to be a Wise Woman In Change? Listening to my body, understanding that things are changing and its another pha...se in life we go through - it doesn't have to be all bad, there are many positives. Being wise means continuing to 'Move', I feel better if I move daily, my exercise regime has changed to more low impact but I am still working my body. I am learning meditation and I am really enjoying it. Nutritional balance is paramount and understanding what foods make me feel good and what foods don't is the key to how well you feel. Herbs are my go-to for managing fluctuations in hormones and to treat various symptoms as they come and go. I love that they are tailor-made to me every month. Being Wise in Change is about understanding as much as you can about what is happening in your body. I hope you are learning as we go and I look forward to supporting you on this journey. How are you going on your Peri/Meno journey? Any Wise moments to share? Feel free to comment below or DM me to discuss See more

09.01.2022 One of the hardest things to do when things are busy is to keep your exercise routine going. Especially in December! If all else fails I try to get a daily walk in the morning and I am never sorry I made the time for it. How are you fitting your exercise in?

02.01.2022 GIVING: Have to say, I love my job, love how it makes me feel and I get to give on a daily basis. When I am not in clinic I love the odd random act of kindness and a 'good morning' when I am out walking the dog. It makes me smile. Don't forget about how it makes someone else feel when you smile at them as you walk by even if no words are exchanged. How are you 'giving'? Feel free to comment below or DM me to chat

01.01.2022 Stage 4 Lockdown Update - https://mailchi.mp/dcb49de422db/winter-newsletter-6964838

01.01.2022 COVID KILOS Is anyone else spending too much time in 'comfortable clothes' and just starting to notice that when you get your favourite jeans out, they feel a little snug? I am! I have been lucky enough to continue working during the last few months so that routine is still there, but I do think there has been a sense of lack of focus on eating really well and maintaining a good exercise regime so this week it's been my 'Take Action' week. All I need to ...do is make some better choices with a fuller awareness of how they affect how I feel in my own skin. For me, it has been more mindful snacking, 3 healthy meals, managing alcohol-free days and more walks. What are you doing to stay on top of healthy eating? Feel free to comment below. See more
