22.01.2022 I love this video from my favourite artist talking about why she paints so many strong women. Part of it is reflective of being told what she could and couldn’t do as a female artist when she was younger and her journey to do what she loves on her own terms. An empowered woman, empowering other women!!
20.01.2022 Are you a ‘Boss’ or a ‘Leader’?
19.01.2022 It’s hard to know what to do when someone cries at work. I have cried at work myself a few times over the last 12 months and also supported others who have also done so. We are not robots. We are human. Our emotions are a part of who we are and sometimes they spill over at work whether we want them to it not. How do you acknowledge and show compassion without intruding or telling someone what to do? This article has some good advice. https://hbr-org.cdn.ampproject.org//what-to-say-when-someo
19.01.2022 ANZAC Day marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli. This year was different and we couldn’t gather together at public events to remember and give thank...s to our service men and women. Some people stood in their driveways at 6am to light up the dawn in private ceremonies, some watched the tv services and some have just paused for a moment at home to personally reflect on and remember those who have served our country during conflict and crisis. We will remember them. Lest we forget.
16.01.2022 Dr Martin Seligman is a pioneer of positive psychology. In his book Character Strengths (2004) and Virtues, co-written by Christopher Peterson, he identifies six virtues that are considered good by the majority of cultures and throughout history and that practicing these traits leads to increased happiness... What do you think of these traits being the pathway to happiness??
14.01.2022 When people don’t feel valued they are likely going to move on. Not feeling valued can come in all sorts of ways; not feeling heard, not feeling respected, feeling your skills are under-utilised or under appreciated, not seeing room for growth, feeling under paid or not rewarded appropriately, not being recognised for good work, not understanding how your job fits into the bigger picture...Once an employee doesn’t feel valued they may leave despite a good salary or perks. While this isn’t true 100% of the time, it is sadly true for a large portion of people who decide to move on. Have you left a job because of a bad boss?

02.01.2022 What goes into your decision making? All steps are important but a lot of people often forget to analyse the risks. The risk analysis is often the point that informs the best way forward.
