18.01.2022 AT THE END OF THE YEAR:

18.01.2022 On this day of Epiphany we call to mind Gods encounter with us

18.01.2022 Water - Living Springs is the source of life that is imagined in both Genesis and Revelation, God breathes life into all of creation, and humans are but one part of a whole eco system dependent on each to sustain and create life. In our final Seasons of Creation reflection we explore humans interaction and place in God's dream of a new and redeemed creation

17.01.2022 How not to welcome someone to their hometown! How we are so predisposed to our expectations and preconceptions shapes who we are and what we see and what can happen. How open are we to God doing something unexpected. What if Godly things unfolded in people and places we least expected and for sure they already are and perhaps we are missing out!

16.01.2022 When Phillip tells Nathanael about Jesus all he said was 'Come and see'. It is what Nathanael sees in the person of Jesus that convinces him to follow. We share the Good News of Jesus in our own living, our own character our own stories of transformation. See more at the Saltbush website: https://saltbushcommunity.uca.org.au/

16.01.2022 When the mind is festering with trouble or the heart torn, we can find healing among the silence of mountains or fields, or listen to the simple, steadying rhyt...hm of waves. The slowness and stillness gradually takes us over. Our breathing deepens and our hearts calm and our hungers relent. When serenity is restored, new perspectives open to us and difficulty can begin to seem like an invitation to new growth. This invitation to friendship with nature does of course entail a willingness to be alone out there. Yet this aloneness is anything but lonely. Solitude gradually clarifies the heart until a true tranquility is reached. The irony is that at the heart of that aloneness you feel intimately connected with the world. Indeed, the beauty of nature is often the wisest balm for it gently relieves and releases the caged mind. 14.01.2022 Elizabeth and I have had a good time this afternoon, adopting some first century personas (Andronicus from the church in Rome, Miriam from the church which has ...the Gospel according to Matthew), and sharing with the people of Saltbush in a discussion about faith, doing good deeds, grace, and righteousness, using the books that appear in this year’s lectionary (Matthew and Romans) as a basis. We came after a fine video that promoted the good work of Camden Theological Library (thanks Moira, and a cameo from Steve Molkentin) and have been appreciating the hospitality of Saltbushwith a tea bag and a biscuit for the shared afternoon tea time See more

13.01.2022 When Jesus was forced into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit, his 40 days clarified who he was and his mission. How has God spoken to you in your sacred space, in your outback experiences.

13.01.2022 A few words from John O'Donohue today

13.01.2022 In Bylong, somewhere in the hills, heading from Mid North Coast to Bathurst where the western Presbytery Ministers and Chairs will meet with Saltbush and Synod. Time to think about the present future!

12.01.2022 Day 3 #16days of Activism Against Gender based Violence

11.01.2022 At first a parable that seems very pointed and very clearly about people of another time and place, but perhaps this is also a parable of invitation to us. Explore the Parable of the Wicked Tenants from Matthew 21: 33-46 and how we might respond as part of our own life and faith journey.

11.01.2022 Has God shown up for you? In this encounter Jesus heals a woman and a young girl and brings healing and wholeness. I wonder if we can recognise God showing up in our lives.

10.01.2022 DAY 2 of #16Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.

10.01.2022 A great day of thankfulness and the gathering of Christian community as the Canberra Region Presbytery ordains Rev. Geoff Wellington and the Synod of NSW & ACT inducts Rev. Geoff Wellington and Rev. Tim Jensen as Scattered Community Ministers within Saltbush as part of the wider work of the Synod. Thankyou to friends, family and the wider Saltbush Community, members of the Canberra Region Presbytery and Leaders of the Synod who were present with us in person or via Zoom and who continue to encourage us along the way.

10.01.2022 Praying with workers in the vineyard @ the MNC Presbytery retreat

10.01.2022 Mid NorthCost Presbytery Retreat with the Saltbush Team offing prayers for the workers in the vineyard

10.01.2022 What is this thing we call Epiphany and how are those epiphanal moments we read about in the Bible connected to our own earthy, human experiences? This week we read about the Baptism of Jesus and the significance of this within the Gospel of Mark. Yes I invite you also to ponder your own epiphanal moments, God moments, in life and the way God, Christ, Spirit, has been a part of your lives. See more at https://saltbushcommunity.uca.org.au/

09.01.2022 Remember... you are invited to follow the Ordination of Geoff Wellington by the Canberra Region Presbytery and the Inductions of Geoff Wellington and Tim Jensen into the work of Saltbush within the Synod of NSW & ACT. Join us at 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 28th.) via this Zoom link: https://uca-nswact.zoom.us/j/92018563038

09.01.2022 DAY 4 #16Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence.

08.01.2022 John the Baptist proclaimed the Kingdom of God in the present, it upset many people and he was silenced. His words of justice, peace and love were a dangerous proclamation.

07.01.2022 In our travels over the past two weeks the Saltbush team have met with congregations and presbyteries. At Barraba, Norma Corney and John Dunn met with Tim to explore new ways of gathering. It was great to touch base with them and Phil, Ian, Faye and Delma from Manilla.

06.01.2022 There are no manuals for the construction of the individual you would like to become. You are the only one who can decide this and take up the lifetime of work that it demands.

05.01.2022 Welcome to Advent with Saltbush! Advent is the season leading up to Christmas where we ponder both the watching and waiting of those who longed for God’s new coming into the world and the struggle of many to believe or even perceive what God was doing in the birth of Jesus. From the Fig tree learn its lesson (Mark 13: 24-37) is our first reading in Advent and an invitation to us all to dwell deeply in God’s enduring presence in our lives and in our world. See more at https://saltbushcommunity.uca.org.au/.../advent-1-mark.../

03.01.2022 I would love to live Like a river flows, Carried by the surprise Of its own unfolding.
