21.01.2022 NEW BLOG POST ALERT. Language is a powerful force, and in Australia, the overuse of the term Psychologist when referring to Counsellors/Therapists/Mental Health Clinicians is detrimental to our community. 21.01.2022 "The silly season is upon us once again! This time of the year can be such a mixed bag. Sometimes no matter how hard we work to create a Christmas free of stress and conflict, the pressure and tension can get the better of us. Stress is when our demands exceed our resources. During the festive season the demands of life often increase (shopping, social / family / work commitments, spending income) All of these things can be enjoyable but when we are overloaded with these com...mitments, they often become stressful rather than enjoyable. At times in our life when we are feeling more vulnerable the festive season can be a particularly difficult time and can trigger grief and loss and loneliness. Particularly for those that are struggling with mental health issues or who have strained family relationships or are grieving the loss of a family member. If youre struggling with mental health issues know more about the importance of seeking support at https://buff.ly/2Opne2V

19.01.2022 Why are Psychologists the first and only thing we think of when were thinking about getting some help around Mental Health concerns? Did you know there are a ton of other qualified and professionally accredited Mental Health Professionals who are also able to provide Counselling? Learn more about your options at https://buff.ly/2lbTZ81

18.01.2022 When it comes to Counselling and Mental Health Support Psychology is the default term we use in Australia and often clients who are seeing clinicians with other qualifications such as Counselling or Social work or Occupational Therapy will still automatically refer to their therapist as a Psychologist. This obsession with the title Psychologist is weirdly only something that exists in private practice in Australia and is a systemic issue with lots of politics at play. You, as a client, deserve diversity and choice. Learn the KEY points of importance in seeking mental health help at https://buff.ly/2lbTZ81

17.01.2022 NEW BLOG POST Often I work with people who have anxiety about being in social situations. One of the things most worried about is not having enough to say or ...not being loud enough. What if people think Im too quiet or too shy? What if people think Im boring? In society being seen as shy or quiet can be assumed to be a negative trait and being loud and having a lot to say can be seen as a positive trait. Obviously, I dont agree with this assumption! What if we actually viewed shyness as a positive thing and something that is a good trait to have? Thats right being quiet and a good listener can actually be a strength..... Would love to know your thoughts on this!

07.01.2022 At different times in life, we will all struggle with stress. Its a pretty normal experience in life. A certain amount of stress can even be helpful but when our stress levels get too high or we experience stress over a prolonged period of time we can become vulnerable to burn out and are certainly going to have difficulty thinking clearly. This becomes a viscous cycle and we often struggle to think clearly the more stressed we become. I have 3 helpful steps for you to manage stress. Read more at: https://buff.ly/2KYu5yc
