20.01.2022 Today’s office Fabulous Xmas function for @womensnetworkaus at @victoriapark raising money for women suffering from domestic violence. I was in a domestically violent marriage for many years and made it through to the other side, so this cause is very close to my heart. ... Luckily I had the support of my family and a few good friends to help me leave, but many women are isolated and have children who depend on them, and are without the financial means or emotional strength to leave. @womenslegalserviceqld offers free guidance, support and legal representation for women in need, and all funds raised today go directly to them. Thank you to @elenagosse for bringing me in to your circle and introducing me to this amazing organisation for women in business. If you are going through something similar or know someone who is, please know that there is support out there and I am a shining example of a woman who survived and thrived!

19.01.2022 I’m so proud of having created this event specifically for Samba dancers and judged by Samba teachers. To see this event begin as a tiny timeslot as part of Jean-Luc Lambs’ Doudoule event (I’ll always be grateful to you for believing in the idea and supporting me!) to taking over Brisbane’s most iconic nightclub, Cloudland, with my Sasha Sasha (who encouraged me to dream bigger!), we have created a platform for hundreds of dancers over the years to showcase their talent, spre...ad the joy of Brazilian culture and bring the dance community together in a safe, supportive and uplifting space! It’s been a difficult decision not to run the 5th edition this year, but we want to ensure all of our Sambista friends from around Australasia stay safe are able to join us for the next one. In the mean time, keep dancing and working towards your goals, and support your local instructors as we need all the support we can get right now
