24.01.2022 Oil Pastels on 24X30cm Pastelmat. For Sale $66

22.01.2022 Hi All, Lilly is all finished. Pastel on 30x40cm Pastelmat.

21.01.2022 Here is my next commission, Rodney and Gilbert. Such beautiful fur, my focus on this one will be to get the shine on the fur just right. Pastel on 30x40cm Pastelmat.

21.01.2022 This scene is coming along. The techniques with using oil pastels are completely opposite to using chalk pastels. You work from light to dark and you can’t go in with the small point of a pencil, you need to move the pastel around, drag it with the pastel stick and scrape it with something sharp to make small lines. The colours are a lot brighter and bolder.

20.01.2022 Hi everyone. I have started the layers on little Teddy.

19.01.2022 I did a lot of details on Teddy today. I think he’s nearly finished, just have to continue on his right side and do his tail.

18.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Sylvie and Pearl are all finished. Pastel on A4 Pastelmat.

17.01.2022 Poppy and Teddy Pastel on 30X40cm Pastelmat.

16.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Lilly is slowly coming together, one piece at a time.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone. I think I have just about finished Lilly’s face, now onto all those little curls! She is providing a challenge but I’m confident I can do this.

13.01.2022 So far so good.

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone, this is Camille. Reference by Kylie. I’ve done a base layer of charcoal first and now slowly adding darker layers and defining with Graphite and Polychromous pencil. It feels good to get back to graphite.

11.01.2022 Hi Everyone. I’m soo close to finishing now. I just have to finish Pearls face and touch up the background.

10.01.2022 Gilbert is coming along. I just keep adding layers, lines and colours to give his fur and body shape.

10.01.2022 Almost finished now. Just have to finish those little fish. I don’t usually use much black as it kills colour, but I have used it to dramatically darken some areas to add depth. This drawing isn’t exactly like the reference, I’ve used my creative licence to make it better.

08.01.2022 So close to finishing now...

07.01.2022 Poppy and Teddy are finally finished. This portrait had soo many different colours in it, at times it was a challenge to find the right ones. It was good fun though. Pastel on 30X40cm Pastelmat.

06.01.2022 All finished. My first Oil pastel peice on 24X30cm pastelmat.

05.01.2022 Looking forward to doing all those little fish on the right.

03.01.2022 Hi Everyone These curls are developing, just making my way down slowly.

02.01.2022 Sylvie and Pearl Pastel on A4 Pastelmat.

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone. Lilly is nearly finished. Even though she is gold there are many other colours and reflections bouncing off her fur, as well as undertones. These are what makes her look realistic.

01.01.2022 Getting my creative juices bubbling with these oil pastels I got from when I was a teenager. They’re very different to using chalk pastels. Very fun. The reference is my own.
