22.01.2022 ICYMI... or loved it and wanted to watch again! Here is the full series of short performance works from Solo 2020.

20.01.2022 Starting this Thursday, catch The Festival of New Trumpet Music featuring UNSW Honours musician Ellen Kirkwood playing a new composition, Evaporate. This work is an homage to the Australian bush and comes from Ellen's heart as a passionate climate activist. Brass Without Borders Sydney time: 9am, Thursday 17 September

20.01.2022 These musicians are fighting against hopelessness. While this may sound like a bubbly jazz pop track, listen carefully to the lyrics. They're asking you to act. They want you to be change you want to see. They want you to know that while if feels like you can't do much, there is a flower on the other side of the dirt. Change will come if we enact it. A music video created by UNSW musicians while working apart! All the credits on our website: https://www.arts.unsw.edu.au//digital-oceans-virtual-jazz-

20.01.2022 Life relevant advice for students everywhere.

20.01.2022 Improvised jazz relies on connection, it's a shared moment between musicians. Without being in the same space what happens? A sense of detachment. A sound that perhaps best describes 2020... discombobulated. Blood Pumping evolved out of a process of disconnected improvisation. Musicians working in digital audio spaces to layer their sounds and respond to one another. The result? Soothing, perhaps even comforting. A work that captures a sense of fractured sensations while calming us with sultry sounds. The experience as it is, blended with the experience we wish it was. This video was created by UNSW musicians working apart! All the info: https://www.arts.unsw.edu.au//digital-oceans-virtual-jazz-

This special event will be held at the Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab on Monday 9 November, 12:30pm and livestreamed for all UNSW staff and students. 16.01.2022 Based on a poem by Hazel Smith, this work captures the stages of the Covid-19 pandemic as experienced by the musicians. Starting with a slow spread and building to chaos, it swings between moments of confusion and feelings of unity. A sensation that we're getting somewhere but uncertainty still sits beneath the surface. A music video created by UNSW musicians while working apart! 14.01.2022 What’s needed now is an ambitious national vision that invests in arts and culture comprehensively and empowers its professional pathways. And that means investing in creative education, arts tourism, the creative industry across all artforms and scales, and creative workers no matter where and how they’re employed. Because we need their thinking, we need their inspiration and we need their boost to our economy.

13.01.2022 This is exciting.

11.01.2022 We're pretty sure one of those 1981 jackets is still in our costume store. It's been cleaned. Promise.

11.01.2022 We tried carrying on. We tried keeping it together. We tried going back to the familiar. But everything has been turned upside down.... So we made these rituals. Live performance is back at UNSW! November 26 & 27 Esme Timbery Creative Practice Lab
