22.01.2022 Please note this is for senior men and colts. Gday everyone. I hope u all have had a great holiday break. But know its time to come back and train. Our season will start from tonight. So the more of you that turn up and train the better our group will be when the games come around. training tonight at 6pm and lets all work for each other. And with school holidays just around the corner the Uniform Room will take a break and re-open on Thursday 15th July in time for Round 10 (Juniors) and Round 11 (Youth) fixtures. ... 20.01.2022 We are looking for excellent people who want to get involved with our growing female program. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in becoming an assistant coach or team manager. Assistant coaches role will include helping senior coach Kara Fabian with training, match day and planning. Some experience would be preferred. ... Team manager role involves team sheets, organising jerseys, helping with collecting regos and helping in general with the running of the team. 18.01.2022 Training times are set for our youth female teams for 2021! Our goal this year is to continue to grow our female youth program and work hard on developing all our players both on and off the field. We want to provide the best coaches, conditions and learning environment for girls of all ages, we want to be the club who works the hardest to make sure every player is given a chance to play footy and love it!... If you have a friend or family member you think would make a great player, we would love them to come down and give it a go. What we would love to see is our youth girls loving their footy so much, they stick around after youth footy and become senior women’s players. We will continue to look to improve our senior program so girls of all abilities will have a suitable team to progress to. 2021 is shaping up as our best yet for female footy, come and get involved!

14.01.2022 AFLQ are celebrating Female Coaches this month! At Sandgate we are extremely proud of the amazing work our female coaches do every week. We would also love to see their development continue and encourage more females to get involved with coaching. In the last few months, we have started a Female Growth Committee who have met a few times to discuss to future planning and continued growth of female football at the club, both playing and coaching. Hopefully over the next month... we will have some exciting plans to share with everyone about where the club wants to head in the female space. It’s a really exciting time at the Hawks and we want to be a leader in developing the best female football program in Brisbane. We also thank Kara Fabian (Women’s coach) Chloe Treeby (Women’s assistant coach) Jessica Cook (U13.5 Div 2) Mckenzie Renee (U13.5 Div 3) and Hannah Jameson (U11.5 girls) for the amazing work they have done with our youth and senior teams this year. 10.01.2022 Hi Hawkies, Due to today's announcement of a snap lockdown in the Brisbane area for three days starting tonight, all community sports must cease until further notice. Unfortunately this means no training or games. You can still exercise outside with your family, so take your footy to the park for a kick. 08.01.2022 Hi Hawkies, we have some exciting news to share Our Club song has just been professionally recorded!!! All sung to the tune of ‘The March of Notre Dame’, (Sydney Swans tune).... The History around our Song is great, and the Original words are on the Clubhouse wall for all to see. Those original words were written at a specific time with the Second verse making reference to several Club champions. While we haven’t changed any of the First Verse, we (along with many others) felt the need for some changes the second verse as over time it has morphed to have some binge drinking references that are no longer appropriate to who we are today as a club. The previous Management Committee started to look at alternative words that fit in with the Heart and spirit of our great club, and they came up with some great ideas. So the current committee has now adopted these words along with a few minor tweaks to have what is recorded and written. Please have a listen to the attached Song and get excited about where our club is headed, and we look forward to hearing our song sung many times during finals this year and beyond. Go HAWKS!
