06.01.2022 That’s a wrap on Sandgate Sunset Run 2018! They were the toughest conditions we’ve had & we as a team were obviously bitterly disappointed that we were dealing with rain for the second year in a row. But then you came along - the runners & spectators. You had smiles on your faces, you had enthusiasm & you weren’t prepared to let a bit of rain dampen your spirits.... You taught us a big lesson last night in getting out there & making the most of it! Many of you were local & some traveled a really long way to come. Some were there for the first time, while some of you celebrated your 5th time running. From the Juniors who got probably the most rain of the day, to the Social Relay who got out there & splashed in the puddles & had a ball! Then the kids in the Deadly Dash who had the time of their lives & of course the Open Relay participants who got out there & showed incredible persistence & determination for 2 whole hours! We apologies again for the cancellation of the Hot Lap, but we had to put safety first & make the call. We will issue refunds for those entrants. So that’s a wrap for another year. Thankyou to our wonderful volunteers, our generous sponsors, our organizing committee, our charity partner The Indigenous Marathon Foundation & of course our enthusiastic participants.
