12.05.2022 This is one of a series of images taken by the very talented Woodrow Wilson Photography whose company Clinical Imaging Photography specialises in setting up clinical imaging suites. He has truly transformed the way we capture, store and use clinical images in our practice. He very graciously shared with me some of the images that he has taken on his philanthropic work with #Interplast and given me permission to share these beautiful images of the human hand

29.04.2022 On May 4th 1991, the first Hand Therapy Certification Examination was administered at 28 test sites across the United States. Thirty years later the examination... is administered at more than 170 test centers worldwide and there are currently over 7,000 CHTs. The CHT credential designates excellence in the field of hand therapy. It has been recognized as a benchmark for excellence in advanced health care specialty credentialing for over three decades. We salute our past and present CHTs and wish you a Happy Anniversary!

25.01.2022 Do you suffer back pain? Muscle aches and pains? >Key points: your bodies pain mechanism can train our brain to feel pain even when it’s gone. >we can re- train... our brain >find out why your body is reacting like this? -Work injury, leading to long term psychological and emotional pain. -Are you depressed -fibromyalgia? -disc issue -nerve impingement - do you need to change something ie. the way you sit or something at work. The sooner you have answers, such as through a scan or certain tests the sooner you can put things into place to rehabilitate through mind, muscle, strength training or just simply moving. Get moving Yes, even if it hurts. Once you have the all clear from a doctor or physical therapist you are safe to move. Developments in neuroscience indicate that the brain creates pain as a mechanism to protect us. In the case of chronic pain, the pain system gets more sensitive. Our body learns pain and so we feel it more acutely. When it comes to chronic pain, the brain is being overly cautious. Pain is increased by fear of re-injury and a whole host of other factors. And so, over time, our body creates a bigger than necessary pain buffer zone.
