We are currently have openings for experienced support workers to assist our clients in the community. Key duties include: Initial Shift Times: 10am to 6pm Sat and Sun... Assisting participant to and from work - Jacobs Well to Clayfield Assisting vision impaired person to perform there duty as a chef Listening to and building meaningful relationships with participants Provide social and emotional support that aligns with participants plan goals Supporting participants to connect with their community Completing administration and case note obligations Serve and collaborate with participants to follow their care plans and achieve their plan goals. Key Selection Criteria: At least 1-year relevant experience in mental health or disability A relevant associate diploma/certificate qualification in mental health or disability The ability to recognise emotions within yourself and others, and treat others with empathy and compassion Experience in building and maintaining meaningful relationships with clients, families and other stakeholders Experience in supporting others to achieve their goals through planning and collaboration Experience in taking initiative and improvising in unexpected situations with positive outcomes Experience in both providing and receiving constructive feedback in a meaningful manner Ability to be calm, patient, and assertive when facing aggressive behaviours or crises Proven computer literacy skills for recording case notes Current Yellow Card or willingness to obtain Current Police Check or willingness to undergo one Successful candidates for this role must have at minimum: Minimum Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) and/or Certificate IV in Disability Australian Drivers License A Valid Blue and Yellow Card National police check or willingness to obtain one Working rights in Australia Current First Aid & CPR certificate Medication Administration Certificate It would be great if the applicant had food handling experience For the right candidate this can turn into a full time position
