23.01.2022 The following announcement was made by the DBA today with regard the 2020 Winter season. It was clearly a difficult decision, but one that needed to be taken. Given the lack of baseball activity through winter the Club is mindful that as we head towards summer we will be looking to conduct a solid pre-season for seniors and juniors in whatever way we can given the ongoing restrictions. We will keep everyone updated as things happen. In the meantime please stay safe

23.01.2022 Congrats to the Southern Mariners Baseball Charter Little League, Junior League and Senior League teams on their State Championship titles. Congratulations too to the Intermediate League Team who worked hard all tournament but couldn't quite get over the line. Congrats to all players, but particularly those selected from the Sandringham Royals, along with a massive congratulations to our club representatives who coached teams, or performed EO duties. Thank you for being a part of our junior players baseball journeys

22.01.2022 We're only a couple of weeks away from the NxtGen Baseball camp and combine at Jack Guiliano Field. These two opportunities are fantastic for our junior baseball's to learn some skills, have some fun ..... and getting them out of the house through the holidays!!! Head to https://nxtgenbaseball.com and sign up

22.01.2022 We are aware that we are very soon due to hold our AGM. Given the restrictions we anticipate holding that meeting via Zoom, or some other digital platform. We will also be asking for nominations for committee positions. If you are interested in getting involved with your club your opportunity will arise shortly!!

22.01.2022 If you’re keeping an eye on the ABL this afternoon as the Aces take on the Cavalry ... don’t be surprised to see one of Sandy’s own Grant Irving donning the black and orange of Canberra. Given the ever changing COVID scenarios the Cavalry have arrived in Melbourne for a serious lacking pitching. The call went out to available club pitchers - so if you have a Kayo subscription or a Fox Sport subscription - check out the games this afternoon.

17.01.2022 Were keeping our fingers crossed that there will be some good news shortly for Victorians, and for sports clubs in particular. We know Baseball Victoria is working hard to ensure we get back to activity as soon as possible, and as a Club we are looking to make sure that season 2020/21 is an exciting one for the Royals. If you are a junior who is keen to play baseball this summer we would love to have you involved so please get in touch with us here - or via [email protected] Details for the season are still being discussed - but we would love to have you join the Royals Family. For our seniors and juniors playing seniors, Club Coach Marshall Skinner is in the process of developing a program to get you back into baseball shape, along with pitching coach Tim Ballard. In an effort to make sure we can communicate with our players effectively we have created a new group that our seniors will be invited to that will contain specific posts from Marshall and our senior coaches. Obviously we will be returning with the understanding that COVID19 will be a significant part of our community and as a Club we will be following a strict policy to ensure our compliance with BV and Government/Council guidelines. In order to best facilitate this we Kirsten OCallaghan has kindly offered to be our COVID officer and she can be contact at [email protected] if anyone has any questions or queries in relation to processes at the Club. This season may look a little different from those in the past, but our commitment to the game and our incredible baseball family remains.

We ask that you use the camer in you smartphone to sign in so as to assist us with any possible contact tracing situations. ... 12.01.2022 Congratulations Irvo.

12.01.2022 IMPORTANT The challenges of the COVID19 pandemic are difficult for everyone - and as keen as we know everyone is to get back to training and playing there are some things we need to remember. The Clubroom, Gear Shed, Batting Cage and other infrastructure is out of bounds for ALL club members at the present time. Bayside Council have placed significant restrictions on all sporting clubs during this period of lockdown and will only allow us back having received specific instru...ction. Any breach of these rules will place individuals and our club at risk of some very significant fines. We recognise the difficulties that the current situation represents, but it is important that we respect the Council instructions. Weve all done an incredible job, and we are only a few short weeks away. Lets be patient - and hopefully we can ALL get back to our beloved club and enjoy baseball for the summer.

09.01.2022 For those members and players who were part of the Royals family in the 90s and through Peter Giles tenure as head coach, we received a message from Chris Cox this evening. Chriss father Noel passed away peacefully yesterday. Noels wife, Chriss mother Terrye was the scorer for the Ones during that time. Our thoughts are with Chris and his family during this tough time. ... Anyone with stories from that period, please pass them on here ... Im sure Chris and his family would love to hear some stories as a reminder of their time at our Club.

09.01.2022 It is important for us as a Club to recognise that we are part of a solution for inclusion and diversity. Sandringham Baseball Club takes this commitment seriously. Jack Guiliano Field is our main diamond, but just beyond left field we would like to welcome you to Highway Tyres Field. Highway Tyres have been a supporter of our Club for three years, but this year have committed to joining us as our All Star partner.... Their commitment to the Sandringham Royals is incredibly appreciated during this challenging time and on behalf of the President, committee and club we would like to say a massive thank you. Mitch Grant and the team at Highway Tyres are dedicated to serving their customers, and helping them to have the best experience possible when buying new tyres, or having work done to their vehicle.
