24.01.2022 **Milestone Man** Congratulations to AFL and SANFL Boundary Umpire, Mark Thomson who will break the AFL Boundary Umpire games record on the weekend when he officiates his 405th game on Sunday. Mark will be striding onto the GABBA when the Brisbane Lions take on the Adelaide Football Club. Amazingly, Mark will be taking the record from fellow South Australian, Darren Wilson. It goes to show the depth in SA Umpiring, as well as the fantastic teamwork in the Boundary Umpire ran...ks. 11.01.2022 Huge news from AFL circles with SA Umpires Craig Fleer (Field), Matt Konetschka (Boundary) and Steven Axon (Goal) being selected to officiate the AFL Grand Final on Saturday night. Craig will be umpiring his first AFL Grand Final and becomes the first South Australian to Field Umpire an AFL Grand Final, while Matt will be officiating his third. Steven has been selected as Emergency Goal Umpire, having previously officiated in the 2007 and 2008 AFL Grand Finals. All of us from the SANFLUA pass on our congratulations, and we can't wait to tune in to support. Pass on your best to the three in the comments!
