18.01.2022 I dont think Im going to miss eighth grade. Its been a tough year. A lot of my friends are struggling with depression and self-harm, and its hard for me ...to watch. I just care about them so much. Growing up is so hard for some people. Its such a big thing. Its your foundation, I guess. Youre becoming you. Its such a big thing and were going through it right now. Some of my friends are struggling with loving themselves and loving life. I think they forget that were still learning. They think that theyre already who theyre going to be. They think they know the future. And its going to be horrible. And theyll never be able to fix it. But thats not true because were still changing. And well always be changing. Even when were old, well be changing. See more

15.01.2022 "Every day, think as you wake up, today I am fortunate to be alive, I have a precious human life, I am not going to waste it. I am going to use all my energies to develop myself, to expand my heart out to others; to achieve enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. I am going to have kind thoughts towards others, I am not going to get angry or think badly about others. I am going to benefit others as much as I can. " ~ The Dalai Lama ~

06.01.2022 I have this friend I used to work with, I think she is really good. I wouldnt say this just for friendship sake. The work she does is very very good. Excellent outcomes. When one of my adult children were having troubles, I recommended Katina Gleeson.

02.01.2022 Once again I am calling upon the generosity and kindness of my friends, colleagues and their friends and colleagues in hoping that you will once again help me w...ith my research, this time, for my Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology. My current research centered on the neurocognitive mechanisms of pain relief AKA as understanding pain and its relief The purpose of the study This research study aims to examine peoples cognitive, emotional and attentional processes in relation to experimental pain and to determine the potential protective role of mindfulness and hypnosis. I will then be comparing these two conditions in terms of their capacity to influence pain outcomes, as a process to aid in the understanding and enhancement of mindfulness-based and hypnosis-based treatments for chronic pain in the future (specifically in the context of who these two treatments are best suited). If you are interested in helping me or know of someone who may like to, the following criteria must first be met: 18 years of age or older able to read, speak and understand English. Not pregnant No heart or vascular disease, Raynauds disease, sickle cell disease, seizure disorder, high blood pressure, or diabetes Do not experience recurrent fainting spells Do not experience a current chronic pain condition Are not currently receiving psychiatric care Do not have problems with allergic skin reactions or excessive bruising Have not previously participated in a cold pressor experiment No alcohol or pain medication for 24 hours prior to your appointment (sorry guys) What is involved? You are asked to visit the lab at the University of Queensland St Lucia once only, to fill out several questionnaires to assess your pain threshold and attention, you will be randomly assigned to either learn the mindfulness meditation technique, the hypnosis technique, or to a condition where you listen to an audiobook. You may experience some discomfort from the experimental pain induction, which will occur twice during the visit, however, the pain is temporary, the intensity is under your control, and you can stop the stimulus at any time. As is standard in the field of experimental pain research, the aversive stimulus will consist of participant controlled immersion of your non-dominant hand in cold water (0oC2oC). The assessment will take approximately 11/2 hours of your time, and you will be required to attend the University of Queensland St Lucia campus (situated between Indooroopilly and Toowong). If you would like to help me (please please please I am begging) I am hoping to start booking people from the end of this month (October 2017) either on weekdays (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday) or weekends (Saturday afternoon, all day Sunday). Please note weekends are free parking at UQ, weekdays cost $2.50 per hour or $5.00 all day. If you are interested in helping me and are intrigued by the thought of being hypnotised (although I cant guarantee that you will be assigned to that condition) please contact me to set up a time and date that suits you via email [email protected] or mobile 0410 403 910 Thank-you in advance for considering my request and please feel free to send my eail to everybody you know. Warm Regards Michelle Grover Provisional Psychologist Doctorate Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology candidate 0410 403 910 [email protected]
