19.01.2022 Heads up! The ultimate merch! For all of October I’ll be running @thecomicartworkshop Kickstarter for this LIMITED EDITION 1000pc JIGSAW PUZZLE with art by th...e immaculate @patgrantart. When we unveil the entire puzzle you’ll totally get why we’re doing this - it’s insanely beautiful and weird, and it’ll be a great little brain-tickler. The art was originally made for @yoursandowls festival in NSW in 2017, and it’s getting a second life! Yay! The puzzles are being made right now by those friendly Jigsaw Hobbits over in NZ and we will be delivering them to all the backers before Xmas so they’ll make RAD pressies, and you’ll be supporting small artist-run arts organisations!! For anyone who doesn’t know about the Comic Art Workshop, it’s an Australian arts org that I am currently co-director of with the awesome Eleri Harris @elerimai. Arts funding looks preeeetty competitive in the near future so I dreamed up this other way of generating funds to keep the organisation going, and I’d love for this to work. But seriously -> Pat’s artwork is so bloody great that I can’t see how this wont work! (Is that real confidence Josh? ... uhhh ... nope ... crowdfunding is a truly terrifying thing to engage with until you hit the $ goal at which point you fold into your cocoon to recover from the stress and sometimes people emerge but they’re still caterpillars ... weird!!). If you have time in October to have a good look at it, grab one for your cousin, one for your boyfriend and one for mum, share it on whatever social mediums you like, and rave about it ->> goodness me, I’d be SOOO GRATEFUL Like - seriously, you have NO idea how grateful. 13.01.2022 The puzzles have begun to be sent out across the land from our HQ in Hobart. They look wonderful, challenging, and fun! Reports are in that they are a technical puzzling experience and lovely to finish. Completion times have been reported to be between 8hrs and 25hrs so far. 10.01.2022 If anyone would like to exhibit in the Paperbark Gallery then just let us know. All g-rated submissions will get an exhibition FREE of charge. Our mascot Luna here calls it the ‘bark gallery, but we mean the same thing.
04.01.2022 We are publishing a puzzle! I know! Crazy hey?! Josh dreamt up a scheme during lockdown to try and help fund CAW in this new era where arts funding will be super competitive and less reliable for organisations. So he spoke to some of the CAW alumni to see what art might work well and Pat Grant pulled out this work. ... We are Kickstarting it all of October in the hope that we can cover the costs of producing this crazy endeavour. If we do that, all profits thereafter (100%) will go directly to CAW to help them run their residency program in 2021.

We have just passed the 100% mark, which is AWSOME: it means we have covered the cost of manufacturing the puzzles and now the Jigsaw Hobbits have been paid off we have to start the business of selling to make a profit. ALL profits will go directly to helping CAW cover costs for its next worksho...p in 2021. Just like to thank everyone who has shared across fb, twits, and instas ~~~> you guise!!!
