21.01.2022 The lovely Brad who usually waters our gardens can’t attend on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. If any members are free those days can you put the hose around the full garden? Just a reminder the hose can only be used pre-10am and after 4pm.

19.01.2022 Next working bee is Sat 12 September at 2pm! I (Andrea) can't make it this time, but that just means more harvest for you guys! Enjoy!

17.01.2022 From council... The Sydney Edible Garden Trail is an event aimed at encouraging and inspiring edible gardeners in street gardens, home gardens and public spaces across Sydney. We want to celebrate the myriad of ways that Sydney residents are creating food security, saving money and the environment, while enjoying the health benefits of home-grown fruit and vegetables. The Trail will be showcasing sustainable practices such as mulching for water conservation, recycling and com...posting to increase soil fertility and reduce landfill, planting to encourage bees, home food production to increase food security, and organic growing techniques to reduce chemical use. We would love for your council to be involved with the Trail. The aim of the trail is very much in line with your environmental sustainability action plan. The Trail will be held over 2 weekends: 27-28 February 2021 - This will be held as a virtual event. Costa Georgiadis, of ABC Gardening Australia have kindly volunteered to host live feeds from a number of gardens for this virtual event. 20-21 March 2021 - This will be held as a physical self-guided trail with backyard growers, school and community gardens, large and small, opening their gardens to the public. The Trail is a ticketed event with profits going back into the community in the form of grants to local schools and community groups to support edible gardens. We believe this is a great way to grow and invest in sustainable communities. To see some of the grant recipients from our 2020 event please go to our website: http://mailgateway.bayside.nsw.gov.au:32224/ How you can get involved: 1. Help us find gardens in your area: We are still looking for private, community and school gardens to register as part of the trail. If you know of any local gardens or if you could spread the news on your council newsletter, website and other social media channels, that would be great. Gardens can register directly on our website up until 31 January 2021. Also check out our website to look at some of the gardens already on board the trail. (We have registered). 2. Help us promote ticket sales: As we mentioned it is a non-profit event. The ticket sales will go back to local school and community gardens. The event is a great way for your community members to learn about sustainable practices and to meet other like minded people. For more information about the ticket prices and garden registration, please visit our website: http://mailgateway.bayside.nsw.gov.au:32224/.
