25.01.2022 Look at our new kitchen storage and servery at Benwerren. Thank you to Lucian from Millgrove Cabinets for your good ideas, hard work and cheery face. A huge thank you to our Op Shop Benwerren Boutique, who raised the money to pay for it!

25.01.2022 Recently Daniella met with Dawn and Nichole at Benwerren. The house is now painted, decorated and ready for the Moving Forward program. The need to support homeless women and children is becoming even greater with the current health crisis. The Foundation is very proud to be supporting this program.

22.01.2022 This lovely painting was made by a very grateful family who recently came to stay at Benwerren. They would not have been able to had they not been funded through the Foundation.

22.01.2022 It was lovely to share with the residents at Blue Cross Scotchmans Creek. Thank you to the ladies in the knitting group who have made some beautiful items to donate to Benwerren. They are keen to make a difference to women and children in need.

22.01.2022 I think there is a big need for this service in Geelong and Anam Cara is fulfilling it. When Anam Cara expands and moves to their new facility, they will need ...even more volunteers. I think the need is still there even with the current climate, it will only get bigger. - Glenwynne To read more about Glenwynees story, visit: https://achg.org.au//how-glenwynne-found-her-place-in-the/

21.01.2022 Sapphire Care Foundation Gala 2020 was a fantastic night. We heard inspiring stories from Benwerren, The Childrens Sanctuary and Anam Cara about the difference the Foundation has been making to women and children in need. $65,000 was raised to enable us to continue to make a difference. Thank you everyone who supported this event.

21.01.2022 Thank you to Edith from the Independent Unit at Blue Cross Sheridan Hall Caulfield for her recent fundraiser. Edith held a BBQ where she individually delivered the meals to residents to maintain social distancing due to COVID-19. She raised $165. What a fantastic effort!

20.01.2022 Dear All, Like everyone on the planet we are highly concerned about the rolling Covid19 crisis and fearful of the consequence this will have on places like Cam...bodia. Reassuringly, it is NOT a paediatric disease and there have been very few cases recorded in children anywhere, and essentially no deaths amongst any healthy person under 18 years of age. However, it most definitely is a highly contagious, very lethal virus and it certainly will kill millions of adults worldwide. We have taken active measures to reduce risk to our kids, staff and their loved ones, and are reviewing our plan daily: *No visitors are permitted, with no exceptions. *All staff and children have been rigorously drilled in hand hygiene, social distancing and cough etiquette. *All nannies have been allowed to return home to their families (on full pay) if they so desire. *All admin staff are now working from home. *The children are no longer attending school and are not permitted to attend busy public areas. *In the event that a case is suspected at CSI they will be transferred to the International Hospital for testing and then either isolated at home or in hospital is necessary. This is obviously a very challenging time for everyone, but we can gain some reassurance with education and planning. Thank you all for your wonderful ongoing support, and messages of concern. We will keep you updated through FB as the situation evolves. Big Love from Siem Reap and Australia, The CSI Family

18.01.2022 Our friends of Benwerren on Saturday tested the theory that volunteers live longer. We applaud them for their dedication to science. We havent pictured all of our wonderful workers, but we value each of you. Nothing like getting stuff done and hanging out with good people.

18.01.2022 At the beginning of the year Benwerren planned a Friends of Benwerren working bee for this Saturday, May 16. We had not expected to be able to continue with th...e event due to COVID19, however with the recent changes to restrictions, we can allow a limited number of people to attend. The Working Bee will run from 10am -1pm. If you are wanting to offer your help, please call the office on 59671021 to register your interest. Please note physical distancing rules apply. See more

18.01.2022 The children at Jodie OShea House in Bali are currently in lock down due to COVID-19 and no visitors are allowed. 70 children working from home is quite a challenge! Our sponsor child Gerhan is pictured here doing his school work.

16.01.2022 We are doing things a little differently at Benwerren... Benwerrens COVID-19 Response The health, safety and wellbeing of our families, volunteers and staff is... of the highest importance at this time. For this reason Benwerren has put its Time Out and Holiday Programs on hold. We are using the property in other ways to support women and children while operating within the changing government restrictions. The office continues to be open for reduced hours to take your calls. If we are not there when you call, feel free to leave a message and we will ring you back. As we all retreat to our homes, we encourage you to take time out, read a book, do a puzzle, reach out to a neighbour or a friend through the phone or a letter, or learn to knit! If you or your children are feeling anxious or frightened during this uncertain time, check out these useful links that contain resources for talking with children and looking after your mental health: https://www.berrystreet.org.au/covid-19-resources https://www.beyondblue.org.au//looking-after-your-mental-h Its also a great time to tune in to radio station 89.9FM The Light for positive music and stories of hope.

06.01.2022 WASH YOUR HANDS Washing your hands to stop the spread is not just about what you need to do before you eat and drink! Always keep the high touch points in you...r car clean. Wipe then down every single day. This includes your steering wheel, your indicator and other control mechanisms, the door handles. When putting petrol in your car you are touching the petrol pump that many others have touched. Use alcohol gel or antibacterial wipes that kill coronavirus to wipe down the handle and wash your hands. Make sure that your passengers also wash their hands. #agedcare #health #quality #safety #cleaning #cleaningservices #laundry #laundryservices #COVID19 #Coronavirus
