25.01.2022 This is a great announcement from the State Government to increase palliative care funding, particularly in rural and regional areas. I have been advocating for this with the Cancer Council for some time.

25.01.2022 At the launch of the Singleton Festival, with the world record attempt for most people crotcheting simultaneously. Great support from Singleton Mayor, General Manager and State member, with Chair of the Festival Committee.

23.01.2022 Important Singleton meeting with Transport for NSW next week! Two-More-Trains-for-Singleton is meeting with senior Transport for NSW representatives in Singleton Council Chambers at 10.00 am on Wednesday 25 July. This meeting will discuss a range of matters including:... 1. Timetable issues & Sydney connections 2. Long term transport strategies 3. Bus/rail connections & 180X services 4. Use of Opal cards on Xplorer services We hope that a range of train users will be able to attend the meeting, especially young people and students studying at TAFE or University and those with disabilities. This is a rare opportunity to put the case for more train services to Singleton, and to speak directly with people making decisions about the future of transport in the Hunter Valley. If you are able to come, or have anything you would like the Transport for NSW representatives to hear, please email TMTFS by Monday 23 July at [email protected]. Or contact me by posting below or emailing me at [email protected]

23.01.2022 Keen to support this campaign. Lets make it harder for our kids to start smoking in the first place.

23.01.2022 How great would it be to have a concert in Singleton for a change, instead of catching a bus into the vineyards? Add your support to the council page. Share with all your friends.

15.01.2022 Congratulations to the organisers for well organised ANZAC Day commemorations in Singleton. Great to see such public support.

13.01.2022 Great service from Singleton Library during this period of physical distancing. A great time to relax with a good book, or utilise our non-fiction section to learn a new skill (cooking or knitting books, anyone?).

13.01.2022 I recommend any woman who has ever considered running for local government attend one of these FREE workshops. I have attended an event at NSW government house and a workshop run by the inspiring Ruth McGowan OAM and am keen to encourage any women in the Singleton region to attend. It is virtual, so being regional is not a disadvantage and there are 2 different time slots! Independent, Labor, Liberal, ... your political affiliation doesn't matter. Due to family commitments I have moved out of the area and cannot stand at the local government elections in September 2021, so there is an opening. I am proud that Singleton Council has 50% female representation and a female mayor and would like to see equal representation on the next council. https://wfea.org.au/wfea-partnering-with-nsw-government-to-

12.01.2022 Pavers that are being removed as part of the redevelopment of the #Singleton CBD are available free of charge to local Charities or Community Organisations through an expression of interest process. Keep an eye on Singleton Council for more information soon.

12.01.2022 Public Lymphoedema services in Singleton (and the Hunter generally) are inadequate. Come to Candidates forum at Muswellbrook Race Club at 7pm on Monday 4 February- also World Cancer Day - to show the next NSW state government that our community wants these services funded properly. Please pass on to anyone you know who is concerned about Lymphoedema services.

12.01.2022 A new face for the CWA?

11.01.2022 Mine has arrived. Looking forward to filling it each fortnight.

10.01.2022 Help us demonstrate the need and support for more frequent and efficient public transport for Singleton. If you ever think you might want to use public transport, please fill in the survey. Is there anywhere you would like to get to directly that is currently impossible by public transport, like Cessnock? Have your say.

08.01.2022 Anyone suffering from the accident on George St last month, I encourage you to attend this wonderful initiative at Sacred Spaces on Wednesday afternoon. Please share.

06.01.2022 So sad to hear of the death of John Gray. The Singleton community has lost a passionate advocate for the arts and a true gentleman. I will miss him greatly.

05.01.2022 Have your say on public transport in the hunter.

05.01.2022 SEWER RELINING Sewer relining works will begin today across the Singleton LGA, and will continue for the next 20 weeks. The sewer relining program follows a t...hree step process: 1. CCTV and cleaning of sewer pipes 2. Installation of sewer lining 3. CCTV of completed job Residents are advised that during the time of cleaning and relining, work trucks will frequent the designated area and workers will require access to some backyards in order to access manholes and inspection points. (Affected residents will be notified individually of this requirement.) What is sewer relining? PVC is heated on a special trailer folded onto it self and inserted into the existing pipe through manhole access points. The pipe is then winched from one manhole point to the next. Once the pipe is in place steam injectors are used to expand the pipe to the size of the existing pipe. The final outcome is a new sewer line with a 50 year design life at a fraction of the cost of replacing the existing pipe. Why sewer relining? CCTV investigation has identified that our aging sewer mains require essential maintenance. Council has approved a relining process which restores these sewer pipes with a new smooth, joint less inner liner to allow for more effective and efficient delivery of sewerage to our treatment works. Sewer relining is a no dig pipe maintenance method that minimises disruption to residents and businesses. Council has engaged Abergeldie Watertech to complete this work. For further information please see Councils website or call our Customer Service Centre during business hours on (02) 6578 7290 or after hours on (02) 6572 1400.
