25.01.2022 Baskets were used for this space yesterday to zone and store the essentials. Creating calm, containing items in their place and using storage items on repeat cuts out the visual clutter, just the labels to come so everyone in the family will be able to use it! Lots of fun! #Sorted #sortedwithsarah

25.01.2022 Organising this dream office was pure joy today... just going to pretend it’s mine for a bit. When you have a wall, shelving and desk as beautiful as this, everything else needs to function well for day to use, it is an office after all, but it also needs to compliment the space and blend right in. It’s now a beautiful, calm space to be in. #sorted #sortedwithsarah #officespace

25.01.2022 Way to much fun organising this pantry full of @oxo.australia containers today...and a little colour coordinating the cookbooks doesn’t hurt. #sorted #sortedwithsarah #pantrygoals #pantryorganization #pantryorganisation #pantrystorage

25.01.2022 Anyone else get a bit excited seeing this magazine at Coles or was it just me? Great tips and just a perfect read...if decluttering is your thing. Not sure where its from but I hope theres more to come. #declutter #decluttermagazine #imexcited #declutteraddict

24.01.2022 Zoning your pantry just makes sense and storing like with like products into these sturdy Ikea variera tubs completes the joy factor. Happy Friday! #sparkjoy #getorganised #tidytechnician #ikeaathome #adelaideorganiser #happyfriday

24.01.2022 All these books give me huge inspiration and I still refer to them when needed. From Peter Walsh, the reason I started my organising business 10 years ago after seeing him on @oprah and realising with such excitement that Professional Organisers were actually a thing ( oh how I’d love to meet him and thank him one day) The incredible @mariekondo , when her books came out I felt like I had found my ‘twin’ in life haha, the simplicity of ‘spark joy’ instantly made so much se...nse to me. The ‘it’ girls of organising right now @thehomeedit who share my love for aesthetically beautiful organised interiors, these books are the dream! Lastly Margareta Magnusson who wrote ‘The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning’ such an important book and way to live, not just at the end of your life but now. I have clients from all walks and stages of life that need me for different things and reasons so it’s always great to have my head around all approaches to decluttering and organising...10 years on I still love it all, and still have a little dream of adding my book to the collection... #sorted #bookstack #sortedwithsarah See more

24.01.2022 When storage space is limited, like it is in a lot of homes I go into, it’s time to stack and use baskets to contain and zone each bedrooms linens. Make use of all the vertical space to create order and calm for every rooms essentials...labels to come. #linencupboard #sortedwithsarah #linencloset

24.01.2022 Pretty lucky to spend the afternoon with some lovely ladies at the first Sorted with Sarah masterclass at @rubyredstarlifestyle brand new space. Hopefully everyones home now getting their Marie Kondo on and if I sparked even a little bit of joy chatting all things organising Im happy... Next masterclass November 15, just in time to get yourself organised for Christmas, or the perfect Christmas present. 22.01.2022 Now is nearly the time to start thinking about the process of swapping winter clothes for summer...nearly! Loved helping my client move into her new wardrobe today. Excess items, out of season and maybes have been placed in boxes and stored above to think about while she settles in to her new home and all the current items hung using matching hangers, with all the ugly mismatched ones gone! We talked about the benefits of the one in one out rule, the reverse hanger trick ...and never having your wardrobe at 100% capacity, letting the wardrobe have space to breathe and be calm. Whenever a new item comes in something goes out, that way you are consciously deciding what deserves to be in your wardrobe. Turning all the hangers the opposite way and turning them the correct way once a certain item has been worn. Checking after 3 months to see what items are actually hanging the correct way. All things to consider if your wardrobe needs a little organising and calmness. Ill be checking back in by the end of the year! #wardrobegoals #sortedwithsarah @ Adelaide, South Australia See more

22.01.2022 Pantry edits always seem to fall on a Friday which suits me just fine Lots of fun unpacking this kitchen and pantry today. Decanting dry ingredients is a must, storing like with like excess in tubs is a must ( especially when you dont want little people to see whats inside ) and zoning the kitchen cupboards right from the start is an absolute must... pretty labels to come. #pantryorganization #pantrygoals #simplify #fridaymotivation

22.01.2022 When things get a bit stressful there’s always books and a Monica McInerney book is just what I need right now. Set in Australia, Scotland and Ireland, a beautiful tale reminding me of our beautiful trip there last year. Even the detail of the plane travel had me so nostalgic for what we so took for granted. Books. As a Kon Mari consultant in training there is s big misconception that Marie Kondo only recommends a certain amount, not true! She recommends only keepi...ng the books that spark joy for you. I love a house filled with books but I’m fussy about the ones I keep. I keep the ones I’ve enjoyed reading, ones that make me happy, ones I’ll read again, ( yes I read them again!) ones I want other family members to read. If I didn’t love it, I pass it on. With South Australians now under a stay at home period, maybe now is a good time to edit your books, you’ve got time! Get them out, touch them, feel them, decide if you want to keep or pass on. Books can provide joy and a sense of travel when we can’t at the moment, so gather all the ones you are willing to donate and put it the boot of the car and when we can leave home again, donate them. We all need some joy and there is so much joy to be found in reading! Thanks @monicamcinerneyauthor this ones staying... #thisonesstaying #booklover #sorted #sortedwithsarah #bookstagram #stayhomestaysafe

22.01.2022 Big day today in the country. Pantry, office, kitchen cupboards and wardrobe...heres the pantry. Everything out, used by dates checked, like with like, zoned, contained and a much calmer space to be. Perfect lovely drive home stopping at sheds and ruins along the way. Happy Friday! #sorted #sortedwithsarah #countrydrive #pantryorganization #pantrygoals @ Port Wakefield, South Australia

21.01.2022 Winters back for a bit and I’m not complaining... Loved setting up this little porridge station for a client, get rid of the ugly packing and make it easy to access and you’ll know exactly when you’re running low. I’m more a porridge on the stove type of girl, the whole ritual of it sparks joy for me. #rainydaysarehappydays #sortedwithsarah #sorted

21.01.2022 I seem to be either unpacking or packing apartments and houses up lately and Im loving it. Today was setting up this stunning apartment by the sea, even I could get used to that view with an interior like this one. All the drawers, cupboards, kitchen, bathroom and laundry zoned and sorted, now these lovely clients can sit back and enjoy that view...when the sofas assembled. And no, I didnt have time to alphabetically sort the spices #sorted #sortedwithsarah #whataview

21.01.2022 At my workshop a few weeks ago I talked about kitchen cupboards and drawers and this included the much needed utensils drawer. With most homes I go into this is the one drawer that is bursting and drowning in chaos and disorder, definitely not sparking any joy. These drawers are often filled with multiples of the same thing, think tongs, salad servers, spatulas, cheese knives etc etc. I often recommend a overflow/extras basket to be stored somewhere else to store... the duplicates, for utensils that I only use once in a while and utensils too good to throw away and handy to have when a new one is needed, mine is stored in the laundry. Utensils like multiple salad servers, tongs, turkey thermometers, cake decorating items and cutters that are only used for big occasions like Christmas, Easter and birthday celebrations. Dont have them clogging up the everyday drawer, store them safely away, like mine seen here, for those one off occasions and let your utensils drawer breathe and spark joy again, an easy 15 minute project! Happy Monday... #sorted

20.01.2022 A place for every bag and every bag in its place... Loved sorting and organising a beautiful cupboard full of winter woolies and bags, beautiful bags. Giving them each a home means they are respected, protected, easy to see and easy to grab when needed. A little weekend project maybe? #Sorted #sortedwithsarah #wardrobesorted

19.01.2022 Loved this linen cupboard makeover. It’s located in a high traffic area in a stunning location so therefore it needed to be clutter free and instantly calming. Sheets, towels and all the entertaining supplies all in their place. A fun makeover all ready for summer days ahead. #sorted #sortedwithsarah #linencloset

19.01.2022 A little weekend laundry makeover with my client. As with all areas and spaces that need decluttering and organising, I follow the same simple steps... 1. Empty 2. Edit 3. ‘Like with like’ 4. Zone... 5. Store 6. Label Using a consistent type and style of storage throughout the space instantly calms the area and creates a ‘home’ for everything so order can be easily maintained. #sorted #sortedwithsarah #laundryroommakeover See more

19.01.2022 Friday’s pantry makeover was just so fun and my perfect way to finish the week. Everything out, edited, ‘like with like’, stored, zoned and labelled. 18.01.2022 A pantry makeover this morning for a client is the best way to start a Friday. Next up, across town for a wardrobe...my day just gets better. Happy Friday. #startthecar #pantrygoals #aplaceforeverything #pantrystorage

18.01.2022 Last week I came across @the.print.supply and fell in love with this beauty, clicked ‘add to cart’ and this week it arrived. The simplicity of it just jumped out and grabbed me and it’s sparking a whole lot of joy for me tonight and couldn’t have finished my week off more perfectly. Tomorrow it goes up on the wall but I couldn’t wait to tell you that Rachel @the.print.supply has kindly offered all my lovely followers a 20% discount code ‘LIFESTYLE20’ so go have a look at all the stunning prints and fall in love as well. 18.01.2022 Well this made me laugh We received some great news here in SA today that we are exiting our ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown a bit earlier than expected and it’s sent a few into a bit of panic. While I certainly don’t advocate binge drinking, I’m all for binge organising and Netflix-ing, you can do it Helen @gitanjali_co I know you can I’ve loved the photos you have all been sending me of your #circuitbreaker organising wins, keep going if you’ve still haven’t finished!#Sorted #sortedwithsarah #yougotthis

13.01.2022 My last ‘Sorted with Sarah’ masterclass for the year today at @rubyredstarlifestyle Such a lovely group of girls excited to get organised and enjoy an afternoon immersed in storage products...and cheese and wine. Enjoy your goodie bags ladies and thank you so much for coming out on such a hot day. This Roy Lichtenstein in our entryway suits me perfectly, getting joy out of the simplest of things, like having a simple, organised home. #sorted #sortedwithsarah #thesimplelife #simplicity

13.01.2022 Just a little sneak...’A place for everything and everything in its place’. When you need to find something, it’s in its spot, well most of the time anyway. Use similar containers according to your budget and style on repeat for a unified, calm look. #sorted #sortedwithsarah

13.01.2022 Spring is the perfect time to edit not only your wardrobe but your whole home. What brings you joy and what you are holding onto just because... its your home, make it your masterpiece for you and your very own happy place.

13.01.2022 The perfect book to read during a pandemic and the perfect book to grab from @hyggehomevintage a few weeks ago. Such a lovely read and a timely reminder that we don’t need much to be happy, the obvious essentials of course and a whole lot of gratitude...oh and I’m all in for some Japanese forest bathing it’s got my name written all over it! Ok maybe not my name exactly #shinrinyoku it’s all about taking in the forest atmosphere, taking a walk amongst hills and trees, this always instantly relaxes me. 12.01.2022 Happiness is a wall of OXO containers in a pantry. So much fun sorting this pantry this morning. Labels to come, but for now, good old chalkboard marker...

12.01.2022 Packing up essentials for a quick little getaway is always easier if your bathroom drawers/cupboards are organised. Regular editing and updating your products is important, discarding out of date, empty products and storing the rest in ‘like with like’ zoned areas is the key to instant calm and order. I love using these acrylic drawers from @kmartaus they come in a range of lengths and widths to make any space sorted. Popping them all in my @basesupply bag and away I go... Happy Friday! #sorted #sortedwithsarah #fridayflatlay #bathroomorganization

12.01.2022 Matching hangers, the key to a calm, organised wardrobe. Ive had two friends show me their wardrobe makeovers this week simply by changing up their hangers, eliminating the nasty wire ones, sorting clothes into categories, eliminating items that no longer fit or spark joy and a bit of colour coordinating for instant joy. A good weekend project...or just give me a call. #getstarted #wardrobestaple #sorted

11.01.2022 Totally agree with the @thehomeedit girls. Labelling makes life easier, saves time and money and keeps everyone in the house accountable for returning things to their place! #sorted #labellabellabel

10.01.2022 Sometimes theres just one cupboard in the house that you cant quite organise and a few others that just need the finishing touch, thats when Im so grateful to be called in to help and create some order and calm. Having no emotional attachment to years of other peoples possessions makes it simple and easy for me and a happy Monday morning sparking joy. Everything out, sorted, like with like, stored and labelled. Job done! #Sorted #likewithlike #storage @ Adelaide, South Australia

10.01.2022 Sorted Make life easier around the house and have a place for everything. It makes things easier to find, easier to contain and easier to look at in those cupboards. I love using these Kmart grey stackable tubs, 3 different sizes and a chalkboard white marker from officeworks for labelling, easy to wipe off with a wet cloth if you change your mind about the contents. #Sorted #keepitsimple #sortedwithsarah #getorganised

09.01.2022 Proud as punch to be interviewed in the Spring edition of the @sa_cwa magazine. As an ex country girl its a lovely honour! See full article link for ways to get some spring organising done around your home. Big THANKYOU to @louise_ohalloran and the Adelaide Plains CWA team for their support. 08.01.2022 One of the most things I see way too much of in clients homes I organise is bags, bags and more plastic shopping bags!! I dont use them ( my husband has a stash in his car), they just look messy and take up precious space in the pantrys, and kitchen cupboards I sort. Try a little bit of folding to instantly soothe the mind, get them under control and have a couple in your bag ready to use so you never have to buy another one last minute. Maybe the kids new job after each shopping trip ? #reduce #reuse #recycle #folding @ Adelaide, South Australia

08.01.2022 Feedback when you get the gift of me in the form of a gift voucher from your family or friends is that much sweeter. The perfect birthday gift, housewarming gift, baby shower gift, get well soon gift, selling your home gift ( I’ll pack it up ) buying a home gift ( I’ll unpack it all ) or a Christmas gift. #getsorted #sortedwithsarah #giftvoucher #grateful #sorted

07.01.2022 Cute and all but not my preferred hanger in a wardrobe. I always find a few in each wardrobe edit I do...whos got one or two?? Matching slimline hangers make all the difference for a calm, organised wardrobe. If you cant get rid of them, try using them in one section only for a cute look. #wardrobeedit #wardrobegoals

07.01.2022 COVID COOKIES thanks to @baked_adl When I mentioned earlier this week that I was sending my girls in Victoria a care package each, this stash magically appeared on my doorstep the very next morning! Bridget you are amazing, too kind and Annie and Bess are going to love them, a well earned sweet treat for these tough cookies. #bakedadl #grateful #yourethebest #healthcareworkers #toughcookies #sweettreat #adelaidecookies #covidcookies #happiness #kindnessmatters

07.01.2022 Absolutely loved organising this clients beautiful office, getting all the shelves, bench and drawers sorted. The junk drawer is a common drawer that gets out of control and forgotten about but seriously only needs a few minutes to get sorted. Empty everything out. Wipe down surfaces. Edit. ( check all pens, textas, pencils, discard used ones appropriately) Sort into ‘like with like’ and zone...then maintain. A little project that instantly lifts the spirit. Happy Friday! #Sorted #sortedwithsarah

07.01.2022 People often ask me how do they start the decluttering process when it all seems just too overwhelming and I always tell them... just start! Start somewhere and start the process. Choose a low emotional area such as the kitchen, pantry, laundry, bathroom or linen press and start small for instant results. A drawer, a shelf, a cupboard. Visualise how you want the space to be and feel, if you can visualise it you are more likely to achieve it. Empty everything and edit, asking ...yourself 3 simple questions...do you love it, need it, use it? Make toss, donate and keep piles and be ruthless, remembering why you are doing this in the first place and the joy you will feel with a calm, organised space. Do these items spark joy? When you pick an area, finish it! If an item belongs in another area, put it there and come back, so many fall into the trap of moving things from one place to another falling down the rabbit hole of trying to organise a few spaces at a time, in turn getting completely overwhelmed and giving up. Stay in the zone! If you finish an area and get it organised you are far more likely to continue. Take everything out, yes everything! Sort into like with like piles and ruthlessly edit. Establish a keep toss and donate piles and start editing. Zone the area, using containers if needed for clear zoning and clarity and put back only the keep items, then relax and enjoy and start planning and visualising the next space.

06.01.2022 The SKARARE bamboo tubs are a great way to zone, store and organise your pantry, kitchen, bathroom, basically any area of your home. Even to hold your daily vitamins like one of the many great ideas my Sorted with Sarah attendees came up with. I loved them adding them to the @rubyredstarlifestyle masterclass goodie bags because I know they work, just adding instant warmth and style, in 2 different sizes. #sortedwithsarah #ikeaathome #tidytechnician

06.01.2022 The best kind of response after a pantry makeover.

06.01.2022 Last year I did a little mood board for 2020...its definitely been a home year! What a fun day @libbyblakemore #home #moodboard #simplicity #2020 #thesimplelife #treadlightly

05.01.2022 My reading stack is getting higher and Im calling the new marimekko cushions my #covidcushions just a few new ones to help cope in a pandemic. #marimekko #marimekkoaddict #sparkingjoy #home #goodexcuseisay

05.01.2022 One of the most common items I see getting out of control in clients homes is bags, bags and more bags...plastic and paper. Keep paper bags stored inside ONE good sized paper bag and let that bit your limit, an easy little weekend project that will make you feel super productive! Just pick your favourites and make sure you reuse them for gifts etc, because no one needs hundreds taking up precious storage space. #sortedwithsarah #sorted #recycle #paperbag #reuse

05.01.2022 Decant your dry ingredients, label and store the extras and surplus in baskets for instant calm, losing all that ugly packaging and the physical and visual clutter that comes with it. Its so easy to see when you need a top up, saving time and money, knowing exactly what you have and need. #pantrygoals #pantrystyle #sortedwithsarah

05.01.2022 Binge watching all weekend...if they need an Aussie version Ill volunteer!!!

04.01.2022 Friday snack situation sorted. Im all for the pantry being as aesthetically pleasing and calming as the rest of the house so ditching the ugly boxes and packaging and storing in beautiful baskets is a must for me. Now... whats everyones favourite? Honey soy chicken for me, happy Friday! #sorted #sortedwithsarah #fridaynightin #snacktime

03.01.2022 Happily exhausted after sorting this shed yesterday and this morning. EVERYTHING out, sorted, edited, zoned and stored with new shelving units from @bunnings and strong, sturdy tubs from @ikea_australia and reusing old tubs in the ‘tools/gardening’ area. Such a satisfying transformation that now oozes order and calm. I couldn’t have done it without two superstar boys home on school holidays who built the shelves for me...and their dad. Thanks legends and enjoy your new organised space. Sheds are coming a close second to pantries for me, all the same principles, just a lot more physical . A place for everything and everything in its place! #Sorted #sortedwithsarah #shedmakeover #shedgoals

03.01.2022 Packing up homes or unpacking and setting them up is something I’ve been doing lots of lately and I absolutely love it. Getting things set up right from the start makes all the difference... #Sorted #sortedwithsarah

03.01.2022 Sorted. This dead space between my clients fridge and overhead cupboards was just a gathering spot for dust and a whole lot of clutter, so two simple baskets later and the dust and clutter is gone. Looking and feeling a lot calmer now. #simplicity #sorted #sortedwithsarah #thesimplethings

03.01.2022 Hide all the ugly laundry essentials in cute, sturdy baskets. I didnt label these as its pretty self explanatory for the people living here, not everything needs a label if these items/baskets are used regularly! Happy Friday

02.01.2022 A new week and new opportunities to spark joy for my clients in their homes. Today household cupboards await... Happy Monday! #sparkjoy #lovewhatyoudo #sparkjoydaily

02.01.2022 With a tiny wardrobe like mine, space is at a premium so if Im not feeling the love for a certain outfit it goes down into the maybe box to have a good hard look at itself extra hangers in another and only what I love is left hanging. These @ikea_australia drona boxes for $5 each store them nicely. #keepitsimple #sorted #wardrobebasics

02.01.2022 Packing up a house this past week that has been lived in by my client for 60 years is a BIG job, but such a privilege, Ive loved hearing her stories and packing up treasures that have so much meaning to her and her life. I feel very lucky to have seen them and heard the tales behind them...and making the move a little easier for her, shes done a mighty job. #packingup #declutter #sortedwithsarah #movinghouse

01.01.2022 I bought these three letters J.O.Y back in 2007 when we had just finished our renovation and put them on this very windowsill for Christmas...and they haven’t moved since! So I guess I was sparking joy before it was cool then, haha. But seriously I couldn’t pack them away after that Christmas because ‘JOY’ was what my home made me feel, with the people that were sharing it with me. Our homes should spark joy, be our safe place and our sanctuaries, filled with things we love, respect and cherish and that’s what I love about what I do, helping others get their homes back under control to find calm and joy again. The best $20 I’ve ever spent for three little letters that still bring me just as much joy 13 later. #joyspotting #justjoy #thesimplethings #home #joy

01.01.2022 Calm organised pantry’s that have space to breathe are my favourite and shallow shelving is a must! I’ve been asked to help design a few pantry’s lately and that’s my first requirement, no deep shelves! Deep shelves just encourage a bit of chaos if you don’t maintain it and it’s a place where things can get lost. Use similar materials for a calm, ordered look that is easy to zone and maintain. Loved setting this one up for @209.magnolias you seriously have my dream pantry! #sorted #sortedwithsarah #pantrygoals #simplicity #keepitsimple
