25.01.2022 Yogis, do you think that it is possible to find a state of inner freedom in our everyday modern life? Help with a project I'm working on by commenting below yes, no, or yes but I could do with some guidance.

23.01.2022 Yes, true! Tiny but really helpful. The inner work is even more beneficial.



23.01.2022 This week we explored some hand gestures, or hasta mudras. This is chin mudra, where we connect the index finger and thumb, with the open gesture of the palm facing up. When we tune in we can notice subtle changes, for example, see what happens when you turn the palms down in gyan mudra. We often finish our sessions in anjali mudra, bringing the palms together at the heart.

09.01.2022 My home yoga space - where you see me if you come to my zoom sessions and where I usually practice too. When I'm not looking at you on a screen I can look outside and see sky, trees and garden. And of course close my eyes and feel within. You don't have to have a separate room though - alongside the bed or couch is also perfectly fine. Going to the same spot creates a routine and ritual that can feel really nice, a bit like walking in to a studio. (Yes there is a couch and chairs in here too by the way, just out of sight!) Want to show me your practice space?

09.01.2022 Don't forget to book if you are planning to attend the New Year Ritual. I'm glad I made a zoom option for the Saturday as well as the studio option. 03.01.2022 Who is interested if I run some sort of yoga challenge the week before I return to teaching classes? Let me know!

03.01.2022 Janu sirshasana - usually translated as head to knee pose. It is a lovely stretch of the posterior muscles, and perhaps you are able to relax and settle here. Where you feel this depends on where you are tight, it is often the hamstrings or the lower back, but could also be the glutes. Personally I like stretching each side separately like this, although we don't always get down this close to the leg and that is totally fine. This can also be a challenging movement for the bent leg and if it doesn't suit then I suggest bending the leg less or not at all. You can also fold forward between the legs for more space for the boobs and belly. Like all poses in yoga, make it your own!

03.01.2022 Note the micro-bend in my right knee here - always a good idea to prevent hyper extension of the knee (and helps a forward bend if your hamstrings are tight too).
