14.01.2022 The UNIMAS ACES team would like to cordially invite you to participate in a half-day virtual workshop on the 27th of October 2020. The aim for the workshop inc...lude introducing current ideas and thoughts in STEM+ education nationwide, and how educators can realign their roles and pedagogical approaches to adapt to changes in the STEM global education scene. What will you gain from the workshop? First of all, you don't have to pay anything! All you need to invest are your time and participation in the activities. Please note that places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. You will learn tips and tricks to use Gamification in STEM as an approach to inculcate Higher order thinking skills, a necessary knowledge for educators of the 21st Century. You will learn to gamify your own teaching content, and in a Idea Pitch session at the end of the workshop, you will receive feedback to enhance and extend the values of your gamified contents. The facilitators of the workshop are experienced educators who have worked with transdisciplinary projects with international collaborators for more than ten years. How do you register? http://bit.ly/ACES_STEM If you have any questions, please contact Jacey-Lynn Minoi at creativeculture.my@gmail.

13.01.2022 Initial focus is to highlight the power of big data the present technology and capabilities in data cubes to harness earth observational data (i.e. water quality characteristics in coastal areas). Invaluable information can be extracted to secure and drive economic and social benefits for communities dependent on the sustainable use of our marine resources.

11.01.2022 The Sarawak Data Cube aims to be operational by the mid-year 2020, leading digital transformation of end-user environmental dataset in a format accessible to multiple users and stakeholders.

10.01.2022 The oceans represent just a very thin film covering our Blue Planet, not unlike the atmosphere, which can hardly be seen edge-on from space. Just how thin is difficult imagine. That's why I love this image to illustrate the point. All the water in the ocean, the atmosphere, groundwater and surface water could all be rolled into a ball just 1,500 km across. Only about 3% of the worlds water is fresh (the mid-sized sphere) and of that only one-third is easily accessible to humans (the smallest sphere). When we scuba dive in what seems to be an endless ocean - we're diving in the that blue ball. That's an environment certainly worth saving.
