06.01.2022 Things have been a little quiet on the Sargent-HP front so time for an update for everyone: Most of you were aware, that Talia and I had our wedding at the end of March, with our friends and family making the journey to CQ for our special day We then journeyed to Tasmania (avoiding the Brisbane lockdown) and had a week exploring the wilderness, enjoying cheese and wine and cuddling some furry friends ... Now the dust is settled, I am ready to get back into weekly group sessions and individual one on one training... Group sessions will now be kicking off next week, all MORNINGS!! 6.15 Monday-Friday with a mix of HIIT, Boxing and Strength. 06.01.2022 Glute Activation . One of the most important components of a warmup should include some form of glute activation. The primary role of the glutes is to extend and rotate the hip, aid in extending the knee and abduct the leg away from the body. . In a performance setting the glutes need to support the hamstrings on every stride, extend the hip in running and jumping. Underdeveloped/inactive glutes can cause hamstring/lower back or even knee issues. ... . If you aren’t doing some form of movement in your warmup - banded bridges, monster walks, isometric holds etc your could be unnecessarily loading your hamstrings from the start of the session, start with 2x30 seconds of your chosen exercise and progress from there .
