20.01.2022 Who makes, restores and repairs your precious jewellery? At Sargisons we have Gavin, Charles and Isabel in the workshop full time. Many of our loyal clients know Gavin well! Gavin started training as an apprentice watchmaker at the age of 16. Qualifying in 1971, he worked a number of gap years in hospitality and got married before driving an old transit van from the north of England to Capetown, eventually settling in Zimbabwe, where he trained as a jeweller and welcomed his... first daughter into the world. Thinking a better future might be found in Australia, he migrated with his young family. Once in Australia, he worked as a jeweller in a number of establishments before acquiring Sargisons Jewellers in 1996. Gavin qualified as a gemmologist and registered valuer in Australia more than 25 years ago.
