"We recently held our mother’s 80th birthday luncheon at The Sauce. From initial planning to the actual function, Maggie, Kathy and staff were so helpful, efficient and friendly. The food (a previously-arranged menu of canapés, alternate-drop main course and cake as dessert) was nicely presented, fresh, delicious and plentifu...l. Service was wonderful, despite having 50-odd guests ‘snuggly’ seated in the cafe/cooking school area. Seating was a mixture of stools at workbenches and chairs at tables (for older/less able guests). A high-chair was provided for the youngest family member and Kathy even produced a little kitchenette play station for the 2 year-old to occupy herself with. Honestly, the Sauce Staff couldn’t have been more obliging. Several of the guests commented on the ‘quirkiness’ of the venue . . . and some made purchases from the lovely kitchen wares, etc, displayed in the shop area. Others commented that they’d be returning for morning tea or lunch, or a cooking class, now that they knew it was there! The celebration was a great success - thanks, Sauce! Just a couple of things: There isn’t alcohol available - we had a BYO arrangement. 01.01.2022 I write to you with some sadness, but on reflection extreme pride in what was Sauce. We will close our doors on Saturday the 6th January, 2019. It has been a delight to have received so much support from all our customers, many who have been with us from the beginning of our journey. I thank my staff and particularly those who have been working with Sauce from it's inception. There are many stories, a lot of amazing catering, beautiful stock, an abundant garden and too many c...offees to contemplate. This in concert with all our customers have made the life of Sauce one of great joy. We are still 'clearing the decks' and in packing up the kitchen will have some used items which will go to sale on Monday the 24th and for the week after New years Day. Our upcoming hours are: Monday 24th December 9am to 2pm Wednesday 2nd January to Saturday 5th January 9.30 am to 2.30pm. All the Staff at Sauce wish you a Merry Christmas and every happiness for the year to come.
