11.01.2022 Many farmers, businesses, and residents in the local area rely on bore water for their water supply, irrigation, stock, along with domestic, commercial, and industrial purposes. Many rely on it for their business’ success. Here are photos showing the devastating impacts of contaminated bore water taken at an award-winning garden in Tahmoor. Despite this bore being located 450 metres away from the nearest long wall, the contaminated bore water has made the plants look sick, bl...ocked water irrigation pumps and spray systems and continues to stain statues, walls, and fences. Imagine if your bore is near to or directly above the proposed mine in Bargo! If you oppose inappropriate mining activity, join us and stand up for Bargo. We need to ACT NOW to protect Bargo from potentially devastating mine subsidence and environmental damages. The Independent Planning Commission is accepting written comments online at https://bit.ly/BargoHaveYourSay The deadline for written submissions is 5pm, Wednesday 24 February 2021. This is our last chance to save Bargo. Make sure you are heard!

08.01.2022 SIMEC is proposing to mine under Bargo, for the first time ever. The proposed extension of the Tahmoor Coal Mine will ruin homes, family life and the Bargo we know and love. If you oppose inappropriate mining activity, join us and stand up for Bargo. 08.01.2022 There has been a case where a bore in Tahmoor which was been so severely impacted by mine subsidence that it SNAPPED and is now rendered useless. Unfortunately, this is not uncommon. The bore owner also noticed a surface spring had completely disappeared, which formerly drained across their property for at least 50 years. On the same property, their dam was cracked by mine subsidence and dried up completely. No Mine at Bargo has been advised that the mine denied the prope...rty owner any support or compensation at the time and the damage remained unresolved and was never reported. 06.01.2022 This Tahmoor South project is just the beginning. Tahmoor Coal General Manger Peter Vale CONFIRMED that SIMEC intends to mine elsewhere in other Tahmoor South domains in future, he said when questioned at the Tahmoor Colliery Community Consultative Committee meeting in September 2020. And that was soon after submitting their Second Project Amendment Report! Which streets will be undermined next? Who knows? But we are concerned that what you see is not what you will get and t...he proposed plan to under mine Bargo is open to potential modifications in the future. Registrations to speak at the Electronic Public Hearing close at 5pm this Friday. http://bit.ly/SaveBargoRegistration Make sure Bargo is heard! Join us and stand up for Bargo. We need to ACT NOW to protect Bargo from potentially devastating mine subsidence and environmental damages.
