08.01.2022 I read with interest the May edition of Peninsula Living and the article about the fight to have Emergency and Surgical Services returned to Mona Vale Hospital.... Reference was made to acute care being agglomerated at the new Northern Beaches Hospital and sub-acute care being agglomerated at Mona Vale Hospital. Reading the dictionary, I find that agglomerate as an adjective means gathered together into a cluster or mass but as a Botany term it means crowded into a dense cluster, but not cohering. How can a public hospital at Mona Vale serving public patients effectively serve the workings of a private, for-profit business which is committed to making money for its shareholders? Sometimes Pen Living reports avoid the hard questions and so let our local MPs get away with their version of the truth. You see agglomerate is not just any word. It is a big and confusing word much like our local hospital service. I am asking that Peninsula Living ask Rob Stokes and Brad Hazzard what exactly is an agglomerated hospital arrangement and how does it benefit the local community?

04.01.2022 Flooding and the closure yesterday of the most direct access to our closest hospital shows why we need emergency and all other acute services at Mona Vale Hospi...tal reopened. A timely reminder after the hospital rally on Saturday. I'm on the Save Mona Vale Hospital committee and the Greens are committed to restoring all acute services at MVH as well as a govt take over at Northern Beaches Hospital - to sort out the mess.
