20.01.2022 The Accounting Profession has certainly been kept on our toes this year navigating all of the Coronavirus Economic Recovery Stimulus Packages provided by both the Federal and State Governments with all of the copious changes along the way while the new legislation was formulated. With small businesses being the backbone of our economy, the Australian Governments have done a tremendous job in helping the businesses and individuals most in need. It has been a big year for businesses, and very stressful with family livelihoods at stake. Who knows what 2021 will bring, but being on top of your business finances with a financial roadmap is absolutely paramount to be on the front foot to make both tactical and strategic decisions I did have a little chuckle at this. Maybe I can implement the GiftKeeper at our place

09.01.2022 Anyone in the market for a great little car.

09.01.2022 We were very pleased to see the big winners of the new Australian Federal Budget is small businesses. With small businesses making up 97% of the Australian economy, the government is clearing focussing on investment through small businesses and growing jobs through small business. What does this actually mean for small business? 1. The company tax rate will be cut to 25% over 10 years. From 2016-17 the tax rate for businesses with annual turnover under $10m will be 27.5%. Th...e $10m threshold will be gradually increased so that all companies face a 27.5% tax rate by 2023-24. . 2. After 2023-24 the tax rate on all companies will be cut to 27% and then cut by one percentage point until it reaches 25% in the 2026-27 tax year. Franking credits will be distributed in line with the rate of tax paid by the company making the distribution. 3. The tax discount for unincorporated small businesses will be gradually increased from the current 5% to 16% by 2026-27 and the current annual cap of $1,000 per individual will be retained. Access to this tax discount will be extended to individual taxpayers with business income from an unincorporated business that has annual turnover of less than $5m, up from the current $2m. 4. The tax threshold for small businesses will be lifted from $2m to $10m from 1 July 2016. The existing threshold value will be retained for access to the small business capital gains tax concessions. Access to the small business tax discount will be limited to businesses with turnover less than $5m. Do you know how these will change your business' numbers? How are you going to effectively use the increase in cash to grow your business and put the correct strategy in place to make the 2015/16 your best year ever? Have you got a clear business plan and budget in place to help you achieve your financial goals?
