25.01.2022 Please have a look at this state government grant and see if you are eligible. You can apply from inside the link. https://www.business.vic.gov.au//gra/business-support-fund

25.01.2022 For any of our businesses that are allowed to stay open. Your workers must carry this permit on them when traveling to and from work.

24.01.2022 So there is no rest up time for us this year. Straight from COVID work into tax time. Whilst this tax time might be slightly different we are looking forward to hearing from everyone. Just a reminder that we can not lodge returns until your income statement is finalised which may not happen until mid July.

23.01.2022 Think this is a brilliant idea and am excited to check it out. Thought I would share it here in case any clients want to take their hobbies to the next level .

23.01.2022 Keep an eye on your myGov inbox this tax time! Most people will be accessing their income statement (previously called a ‘payment summary’) through our online... services in myGov. If your myGov account is linked to our online services, we’ll let you know once your employer has made your income statement ‘tax ready’ - then, it can be used to do your tax return. Remember, many employers have until 31 July to do this. Lodge through an agent? No problem. Get in touch with them as usual they’ll have access to this info too. Find more info at www.ato.gov.au//Working-as/Accessing-your-payment-summary/

21.01.2022 My kids and hubby are car and motorbike lovers. Don’t think I’ll be telling them about this clients business . But for everyone else go check out their page and maybe start planning for Christmas. They have some beautiful pedal cars and push cars.

19.01.2022 So......we are in lockdown again. This means that all appointments will be via phone or alternatively you can email us your information. If you have already made an appointment they will all become phone appointments. Please email sue on [email protected] that you understand that your appointment is now by phone. This will save Sue having to ring everyone to explain the situation. We hope everyone looks after themselves over the next 6 (or so) weeks. It is definitely a different tax time to what we are used to but looking forward to speaking to you all at some stage.

19.01.2022 DAMN IT....We had been doing so well! I have been informed this morning that Knox has a new case of someone with covid19. The Government wont tell Council any d...etails so I don't know if this is a recently returned traveler or community transmission. What it means though is our total number of cases is 15 (13 recovered) and we have 2 people in self isolation in our community right now. The reality is we cannot surround Knox in a bubble and keep the virus out. But each of us, you..me..we can do our bit to minimise the risk of catching it, being a carrier of it and transferring it to our family, friends, work colleagues, school mates and others in our neighbourhoods. All things considered Knox is doing okay through this pandemic and is showing positive signs of a relatively good bounce back. All this sacrifice and hardship can be undone if we don't follow the Chief Health Officers advice. Please....Please....be vigilant with your social distancing. hand hygiene and minimize where possible going to other municipalities where the number of cases is much greater than ours.

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. We are non-essential so we are at home for the next week. We will still be working but please be patient if we don’t return your call or email straight away.Hi everyone. 15.01.2022 Do you know your tax myths from tax facts? Test your working-from-home knowledge below as we set the record straight. Myth: If I use the shortcut method, I ...can claim 80 cents per work hour plus other equipment (that costs $300 or less) to use when working from home. Fact: Under the shortcut method you can only claim 80 cents per work hour. This method covers all deductible expenses, including office furniture and technology. You can’t claim any other working from home expenses on top. Myth: I can claim everything I bought to work from home (new laptop, desk, toilet paper, tea or coffee and my kids’ education supplies). Fact: There are three methods you can use to calculate your working from home expenses. You can choose the method that will give you the best outcome but you must meet the eligibility and record keeping requirements. You cannot claim items such as toilet paper, tea, coffee or your kids’ education costs, these are private expenses. Myth: I can’t claim my working from home running expenses, even though I share the costs with my housemate because the bills aren’t in my name. Fact: Under the shortcut method multiple eligible taxpayers working from the same home can each claim 80 cents per work hour, even if the utility bill isn’t in your name. 14.01.2022 Tax tip: Lodging your tax return gets easier at the end of July! From late July, a lot of your info will be automatically included into your tax return incl...uding income, bank interest, health fund details and government payments. All you’ll need to do is double-check the info, add anything that’s missing, and you’re done! The other good news is that if you have received JobKeeper payments as an employee you don’t have do anything different. They will be included in your income statement. 12.01.2022 So stage 4 restrictions are here. We along with a lot of our clients are going to be affected. Tomorrow will be the last day that we are in the office. From Thursday on we will all be working from home. The phone is being diverted so please leave a message if you get the answering machine. If emails can please go to Sue at [email protected] and she will forward them on to the relevant person. We ask for patience at this time. We understand that in these turbulent times ev...eryone wants their returns ASAP. We are working through them as quick as we can. I am working around the clock but these are unprecedented times with additional pressures that we normally wouldn't face at tax time (like trying to work whilst 3 boys are remote learning in the next room). We ask all our clients to keep safe and to look after yourselves and others. Fingers crossed the next 6 weeks will make the difference and we can soon see each others smiling faces again.

12.01.2022 I haven’t shared this client for a while so thought it was time to give her a shout out. Checkout her face book. She has a brilliant selection of teas for what ever ails you

11.01.2022 I think I need to buy this for myself

10.01.2022 Calling all teachers! It’s time to study your tax deductions so you can get an A+ on your return. See our cheat sheet of what you can and can’t claim: You can... claim working from home expenses. You can’t claim the cost of gifts you buy for your students or any time you pay for their personal expenses (e.g. their lunch, excursion fees or school books). You can claim self-education expenses if the course relates directly to your current job. You can’t claim a deduction if your study is only related in a general way to your job, or is designed to help you get a new one. You can claim a deduction when you drive between alternate workplaces for the same employer on the same day (e.g. from your school to another school to supervise an exam). Want to learn more? Check out www.ato.gov.au//Teacher-and-education-professionals---inc/

10.01.2022 It's true, the JobKeeper bill passed yesterday, however we are still waiting on more information from Treasury and the ATO. Please be patient and give us time to read the law. If you have any questions please email them and we will respond as soon as we can.

04.01.2022 So how is everyone? Are your heads spinning as much as mine B2’s and Sue’s? It has been an unprecedented couple of weeks. My best advice at the moment is breath. My family pulled out the kites the other day and spent an hour laughing and running after kites. I can honestly say it is the first time in weeks that I stopped and breathed and really smiled. So, all these stimulus packages. What do they all mean? We are still getting our heads around them and by no means do we have...Continue reading
