21.01.2022 The committee of the Singapore Business and Social Association would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their interest in the upcoming Hari Raya Celebration lunch on the 6th of June. We are humbled by the overwhelming response we have received for the event! Tickets were snapped up within 30 mins of posting the event. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have unfortunately had to restrict the number of attendees. We encourage you to register your name on the wait...list and will be in touch if spots become available. The overwhelming response has certainly encouraged the committee and we will endeavour to organise another similar event in the coming months. In the meantime, we encourage you to visit our website www.sbsa.org.au and to like our Facebook page to stay up to date with events and happenings. We also encourage you to sign up as a member to access future social and networking events at a subsidised rate amongst other benefits. -Arun

The first event on 11 Sept is a collaboration between the Singapore Global Network and LinkedIn, where we have a fireside chat on trends in Asia-Pacific between a political office holder from Singapore and the LinkedIn co-founder; the second on 17 Sept features a Singapore start-up involved in ecotourism in Australia. Emerging Stronger in... Asia-Pacific ======================== Asia-Pacific is the fastest-growing region in the world. At the heart of it is the world's most competitive economy, Singapore - a thriving metropolis known for its stability, security and multi-racial social compact. Join in this fireside chat between LinkedIn co-founder Allen Blue and Singapore’s Senior Minister of State (Ministry of Health & Ministry of Communications and Information) Dr Janil Puthucheary, as they discuss the evolving trends and opportunities in Asia-Pacific, and how Singapore is paving the way to emerge stronger as an economy and society. This event is organised by the Singapore Global Network, in collaboration with LinkedIn. Date: 11 September 2020, Friday Time: 11am 12pm (AEST) Register at: https://go.gov.sg/apacfuture The Zoom link will be sent to registrants closer to date. If you can’t join us on that day, do register anyway and a recording will be sent to you after the event. ======== Eco Entrepreneurs ============== The mention of Singapore might conjure up images of an urban city with modern skyscrapers, but did you know that Singaporean entrepreneurs are making an impact in the areas of ecotourism? Join us as the Singapore Global Network chats with Jeff Yeo, Co-Founder of Big Tiny, a Singapore start-up inspired to make a sustainable difference through building tiny houses for the Australia and New Zealand market. Find out more about how the Big Tiny founders’ passion for the environment sparked their entrepreneurship, and their story of starting the business and launching it Down Under. Date: 17 September 2020, Thursday Time: 6.00pm 7.00pm (AEST) Register at: https://go.gov.sg/ecoentrepreneurs About Big Tiny Inspired by a holiday down Australia’s Great Ocean Road, Big Tiny was founded in 2017, with ecotourism as its ethos. Big Tiny builds tiny houses on wheels, which are parked in the great outdoors and can be rented out for tourists’ accommodation. Big Tiny hopes to give urbanites the experience of waking up amidst Mother Nature, while also contributing to the livelihood of rural landowners. =====
