21.01.2022 Behind the scenes at today's launch of the Wave of Change program, a partnership between Containers for Change and Plastic Oceans Australasia to help schools learn about the impact of plastics on their environment and the importance and benefit of recycling drink containers. The students will also learn about the container refund scheme, the importance of recycling and how they can use it to raise funds for their school. Our Whale Trailer was the perfect backdrop for the launch!

15.01.2022 Just a reminder to please drop any unwanted uniforms off at the office before the second hand uniform sale this Thursday. We are low on stock, particularly for senior uniforms, so if your child just finished school, now is the time to empty the cupboards and pass the uniforms on to the next cohort of seniors. 13.01.2022 As we start to head towards the end of term 3, here's how you can help your P&C in their current fundraising efforts. Every little bit counts and the SBSHS students appreciate your support. *Join our SB crew next Sunday as we cheer on the athletes running the Sunshine Coast 70.3. All students and their families are invited to come along and help us run the water station at Cotton Tree Park, Maroochydore. We would love some helpers from 10am so email Amanda on [email protected] OR Text 0411765281 and she will send you all the details. * Our Whale Trailer is parked up in front of Music Block needing some cans, bottles and eligible containers to fill it up! How you can help? If you are saving up your own recycling collection, that's ok, we love that you are recycling but how about you put a few aside and drop them into the whale trailer this week. If everyone in the school just dropped off two bottles or cans this week, we would make $280! Woohoo...imagine if they dropped off three or four. Easy fundraising without any effort. Our trailer has made it's mark in the cash for containers recycling world and we can help spread this whale love further! Are you up for the challenge? Sunday 13th September Don't worry, you don't need to run an Ironman but you DO need to be able to cheer loudly, fill up water cups and enjoy a great day out, all in the aid of supporting our school. ... The Sunshine Coast 70.3 race is on Sunday 13th September from 7.30am to 2.30pm. The SBSHS P&C are running the water aid station at Cotton Tree Park, Maroochydore and we need lots of volunteers to help out. 03.01.2022 Hi everyone, just a reminder this Monday 1/6/20 we’re back in business for containers for change collection. Please send your children in with their orange bags please. The bag drop-off point is from 8-9am outside the Manual Arts building, members of the P&C will be there to meet you. ... Quick tips: plastic drinking vessels only, please clean and remove caps. This is a fundraiser for the P&C and one way of rethinking our plastic waste. Your P&C Committee

03.01.2022 We are so fortunate that the Glossy Black Cockatoos love to drink from a puddle in our carpark near the music block - birdwatchers come from all over the world to see these amazing birds. They're usually there from around 4.30pm. We're also lucky to have some amazing photographers in our midst who are so kind to share their photos with our community. Enjoy!

02.01.2022 MEDIA RELEASE: Whale trailer - the no-fuss way to collect Containers for Change Collecting Containers for Change (C4C) is going to be a breeze for Sunshine Beach State High School with the P&C unveiling a custom-made trailer at their Annual General Meeting last night (17 June 2020). 01.01.2022 We made it! - Teacher appreciation morning tea // On behalf of the P&C and the SBSHS community we just wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the staff and teachers at SBSHS for their commitment and support in what has been a very unusual term for everyone. A morning tea was organised today with a delivery of yummy goodies to all 6 staff rooms for morning tea.
