24.01.2022 A massive thank you and a big well done to everyone who helped out today for our team photo day and the scratch matches. From the merchandise stand, to those that cooked the snags/eggs/bacon on the BBQ, to the volunteers in the canteen and the parents that helped set up and then pack up the ovals for the football games - you are the unsung heros of the Club and are all very much appreciated. Even though the weather wasnt in our favour today, that didnt deter our players and families from coming down to the Club and making it a fun (albeit very busy) day.

24.01.2022 A bit of year 6 news for your evening: The Churchlands SHS Year 7 intake for the "Special AFL Program" practical assessment trial was held today. Players had to complete a three hour skills, fitness and game-play assessment to be considered for selection into the program. 40 or so Year 6 players from multiple Clubs competed with the final selection to be announced next term. Our year 6 players worked hard and gave everything. Credit to SJFC for getting them prepared and rea...dy to shine. Also special shout out to teammates Oscar and Noah B for getting down to support their team even with Noahs arm in a cast Thanks to Adrian Smith for the update and good luck boys!

24.01.2022 In light of the new COVID restrictions, community sport can go ahead but social distancing is to be implemented ASAP. We will endeavour to keep everyone updated as this situation unfolds.

23.01.2022 With a few rounds of football now under their belt, we wanted to give a shout out to our year 9/10 girls team for their convincing 54 to 0 win over Ocean Ridge on Friday night. The girls may not get to play their games at Millington but we are behind them 100% Keep it up!

22.01.2022 PHOTO DAY - CANTEEN This Sunday 28th June is our first club event of the season - PHOTO DAY - we also have 3 scratch matches happening with Yr 10 taking on Claremont at 11am, our yr 11 vs Yr 12 at 2pm (both at the Mill) and a yr7 and 8 mix up at 3.15 on KL. As such, it will be a busy day at the club rooms & especially the canteen... and we could really use some help! ... We need 12 people for 1.5 hrs each - or you can split your "shift" with a partner/friend. If you have time to spare, please consider helping out. You will have regular staff there to guide & support you. Follow this link to sign up and do your bit to help our club have a successful start to the season, https://signup.com/go/ieQJqYa

22.01.2022 Important Reminder about training numbers: The current State Government restrictions surrounding gatherings, stands at a maximum on 20. What does that mean for training now that we are starting to get back into the swing of things?... It means 20 people in one group, which for us might look like 17 players, 1 Coach and 2 Assistant Coaches (or a variation of that) It does NOT mean 17 players, 1 coach, 2 assistant coaches, 15 parents on the boundary and 2 Dad's behind the goals throwing the balls back in. The rule is "GET IN, TRAIN, GET OUT". Parents and carers are asked to either drop players off at training and return again at the end of the session or remain in their cars for the duration of the training session if they wish to spectate. As frustrating as this is, this is what the State Government has sanctioned, so we will adhere to the 20 person limit until such time that we are advised other wise and we thank everyone for their support on this. If you would like further info or require additional clarification please email Julie at [email protected].

22.01.2022 As mentioned in the post about team photos, the team from DE Custom Mouthguards will be at the Club on the 28th of June from 9.30am to 11.30am - so follow the links to make a booking and show your Club colours! https://www.demouthguards.com.au/scarborough-jfc/

21.01.2022 Today we were advised of the passing of one of our SJFC Life Members in Ray Halnan. Ray was heavily involved in our Club in the 1960's and 70's when his son Shane was playing. Ray undertook numerous roles from Team Manager, Coach and also Club President. For his committment to the Club, Ray was awarded Life Membership status which he cherished and wore his badge with pride. Anyone who has attended a Scarborough Day event would recognise Ray as he was a regular attendee along ...with his wife Val. The SJFC extends it deepest condolences to Ray's wife Val, his son Shane and Ray's extended family and friends. Rest in Peace, Ray

15.01.2022 TEAM PHOTO SCHEDULE Hi Everyone, attached is the schedule for our team photos on the 28th of June at the Millington Clubrooms. Please ensure you are at the Club 10 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure there is no delay - as we are dealing with 17 time slots!... Auskickers are asked to arrive at least 20 minutes prior to collect their SJFC Auskick shirts for 2020. For years 3 to 12, we ask that your child wears their playing jumper (which your Team Manager will have) along with their Scarborough shorts and socks (if they have them). In an effort to reduce waste, we will have a second hand box for shorts available on the morning, and We will have a merchandise stall available all day with credit card facilities if required. If you would like to purchase new items before the 28th, please contact Janine on [email protected]. Please bring along any old, good condition shorts to donate to our box for others. Finally, as always, if your child has any cold or flu like symptoms, please DO NOT attend the Club.

15.01.2022 Thank you to the awesome YR 3s who created a fabulous cheering runway for one of the yr 11/12 green players who played his 100th game today! #wearescarborough

15.01.2022 This weekend is the Umpires round! Make sure to thank your Umpire, give them the thumbs up and respect the normally thankless task that they undertake every week to make sure our games run smoothly. Also, keep in mind that a lot of our Umpires are new to the role and still learning, so cut them a little slack - your son or daughter might want to move in to umpiring one day, so we want it to be a positive experience

15.01.2022 Can you feel that?... That is the feeling of excitement at Premier Mark McGowan announcing today that from next Saturday (6 June 2020), competitive sport is back! There are obviously precautions that will still need to be followed and we have to wait until the WAFC gives us the final details of a return to fixtured competition, but the future for community football in 2020 is looking very bright.... Awesome job to everyone in WA for doing the right thing and getting us back to normal quicker than anticipated. GO WA! ****Until the 6th of June, current social distancing rules, 20 people limits on gatherings and maintaining good personal hygiene still apply*** To be fair, good personal hygiene should always apply regardless of a pandemic

14.01.2022 Get your game faces on people... footy is BACK! This return date is for AFL Auskick along with our year 3 to 12's

14.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE: Way back in the good old days, prior to COVID-19, the Club booked the date for our team photos being the 28th of June 2020. Even though, thanks to current restrictions, we wont be playing for a few more weeks, it was decided to keep the date and make them pre-season photos The schedule will be provided very soon. In addition to the photo session, Janine will have merchandise available for purchase for any last minute socks or short requirments and any othe...r items you would like to pick up. We are also working with our mouthguard provider for them to come along for anyone that would like to have a mouthguard fitting on the day (more info to follow). All of this will work in our favour as it means no rushing between games, if you have multiple children it means you can do it all on the one day and everyone will be nice and clean for their photo. We will still be maintaining social distancing where we can and all surfaces will be sanitised before and after each team enters the Clubrooms. We encourage everyone to remain vigilant with their own personal hygiene and if your child is exhibiting any cold of flu like symptoms, DO NOT come in for the photo. We look forward to seeing plenty of pearly whites on the 28th!

13.01.2022 All parents please follow guidelines

13.01.2022 Congratulations to the 2020 Youth Coach of the Year - Greg Hogan!

13.01.2022 Thank you to those players that submitted an entry to our General Public Food Co competition. Our winners have been notified and their vouchers have been delivered. We still have a number of vouchers available and we will try to get a few more competitions going to fill in time whilst we wait for footy to come back, so keep an eye on our page and you never know, you could be our next winner

13.01.2022 It’s almost team photo time! All registered players would have received an email and or text message from Sports in Focus about team photos. Photos are scheduled for the 20th and 27th of June at the Millington Clubrooms. ... Session times will be determined based on fixtures (which are currently not available). Once they are released, please ensure you arrive BEFORE your session to allow the photographers to organise everyone, as one team running late has a knock on affect to all other teams following. If you need any SJFC items such as socks or shorts, please contact Janine via [email protected] ASAP.

If you like footy, churros and an open bar - keep your eyes peeled for further details in the next couple of days.
