25.01.2022 On Tuesday Night the 11th February our 5 day old Alpaca was taken from our road paddock on Obi Obi Road Kidaman Creek near Kenilworth 4574. Our paddocks have do...g proof fencing and the paddocks we’re checked to make sure she hadn’t died of natural causes. Crias do not leave their mothers side especially at 5 days old. She was in the paddock Tuesday evening but was not there on Wednesday morning. Her chances of survival are very slim and her mother is fretting. To date she has not been returned but we would like to thank everyone for their concern, and the sharing of our original post. See more

25.01.2022 Beware the cunning canine chocolate thief. Hopefully everyone is aware of chocolate toxicity by now. A lesser known threat to dogs at Easter is the humble fruit hot cross bun.

19.01.2022 That's a wrap! After many months of hard work, we're looking forward to opening the first stage of Everleigh tomorrow - and would like to thank you, the Greenb...ank community, for your patience during construction. 11.01.2022 Please. No cooked bones, to any dog, ever. Including HAM BONES. Cooking, including smoking, of bones changes the protein matrix structure of the bone making it... indigestible. The way it goes in the mouth is the way it tries to come out the other end. Larger fragments of cooked bones are often stuck in the stomach or small intestine and cause perforations and death if not operated on by your vet. Some dogs crunch up the relatively soft ham bone and it sets like concrete full of razorblades in the colon. This makes it difficult and painful to pass. The longer it is there the more trouble it causes. I will anaesthetise several pets over the next couple weeks having eaten ham bones unfortunately. We will use a stainless steel water pick to slowly and carefully break down the Impacted physical mass into a slurry that is able to be flushed out of there . Not a pretty way to spend the Christmas festive season. Dr Glenn. Veterinarian at vet-n-pet DIRECT and The Bloomin Vet See more

11.01.2022 WANTED: Greenbank Rural Fire Brigade is on the lookout for an unwanted horse float (it doesn't have to be roadworthy) so they can continue to fine tune their La...rge Animal Rescue training and capacity. Some training and actual rescue scenarios include horse float rollovers with horses inside, horses going down in floats while travelling, horses going over or under the chest bar or divider while travelling - you name it, you probably know a horse that has done it. If you can help, please contact Fabian Stangherlin here on Facebook. And my thanks on behalf of the great Greenbank Large Animal Rescue team!

Its the best... way any of us can get involved with some citizen science and help add valuable data nationwide about our amazing birds and their distribution. The whole family can be involved and all it takes is 20 mins sometime between the 19th -25th October. You can join me by registering here ; https://aussiebirdcount.org.au/?Costa You can do your count in your backyard, at the local park, at nan and pops place, wherever you like. If you dont have the app you can always fill out the forms on the website but the main ingredient you need is 20 minutes to sit or stand and observe what birds are around that location. There is a live launch of the event of Monday 19th and Ill let you now about that on the day. Heres links to the Birdlife Australia Website and Aussie Backyard BirdCount Website, also the Facebook Instagram and Twitter pages for all the info you need to know and lots of great facts. Ill be doing a few counts over the week and will go live on one of them and we can talk about our bird counting experiences. Let the family know, the grand kids, nieces, nephews, neighbours and have some fun supporting our birdlife and recording our biodiversity. After the year that has been this data is even more valuable to see just how our birdlife has faired given the bushfires and ongoing drought. 03.01.2022 IMPORTANT MESSAGE! Regardless of YOUR opinion about this upcoming heatwave and extreme heat - animals will still suffer! Many animals will seek refuge in and a...round your home which may include trees, your verandah / patio, under your awnings, inside your shed, even your pool! 99.9% of the time they will be a combination of scared and harmless! They will simply be trying to escape the heat and SURVIVE! If it is safe to do so and your own health is NOT at risk then please accommodate for these helpless animals by putting some water out for them and assist if they become trapped in their own panic! IF the animal in question is a dangerous animal but appears to be suffering from the heat - please call an expert to assist you in what you should do, don’t just ignore the animal and it’s well being! Thank you.
