25.01.2022 Our Intermediate Boys traveled to Hossack Reserve yesterday to play Lynwood SHS on the back of last weeks 0-0 draw against John Curtin. The JC draw meant that we were level on points with JC leading into the last round of fixtures, meaning that to give ourselves the best chance of progressing we would need to improve our goal difference. In dominating proceedings over the course of the match, the Boys won 9-2 with goals from Kaleb Scott-Healy, Alex Da Rocha, Raph Gomba, Max Worswick, and Jahkobi Mkulo, and ensured that we put ourselves in a fantastic position to progress through.

24.01.2022 Bobby Despotovski is coming to South Coast Baptist College! The Coach who helped shape one of Worlds best womens footballers Sam Kerr, will visit South Baptist College tomorrow (Wednesday) in search of the next Matildas star. Bobby Despotovski, the highest goal scorer of all time in WA and Perth Glory women's coach for 4 Years, guided Sam Kerr for the last couple of years at Glory, he will impart his extensive knowledge to South Coast Baptist Colleges most promising girls.... Young Australian of the year and Matildas world cup captain Sam Kerr was ex-student of SCBC Sister College Somerville and was developed just 20 km away. Under the guidance of UEFA PRO Licence coach Adi Juric the SCBC football girls program has developed from just five girls nearly four years ago to a thriving academy today of over fifty players, several of whom are playing in the NTC, senior NPL teams. Juric says overcoming the COVID 19 restrictions has been difficult but he feels that has only fuelled the passion for the girls to become better players the enforced break could of gone two ways for the girls but for us at SCBC the philosophy of playing attacking football and the belief our coaches give the players, has meant the girls are so hungry to develop and the structure we have given them sets a great foundation for all parts of their lives Juric is a close friend of Despotovski who is one of the most respected womens coaches in Australia In his day Bobby was an outstanding striker hes got a sensory feel for the game and now as a coach has added structure and tactical nous, our girls at SCBC football can derive so much from his extensive knowledge Im sure they will also be eager to know the training habits and approach of Sam Kerr and learn from one of the best in the womens game

24.01.2022 Head of Goalkeeping Dave Whalley speaking to www.footballwa.net on the challenges faced with COVID-19 by the Football Academy staff: During this enforced time one of the challenges was to keep all the young students interested and engaged and to aim to continue their Football education in the best way possible. As a Football Department we decided to design many sessions and look to deliver them all online. On a personal front this was a great learning curve for myself and I thoroughly enjoyed the process. I would not say that I am an expert now, but I have improved my computer skills and understanding of how to cut and clip videos improved dramatically!

21.01.2022 When Bobby Despotovski visited SCBC he answered some questions asked by the Football Academy students. Watch as he shares some inspring words with Adi Juric and the SCBC Football Academy students.

11.01.2022 Year 11 & 12 Football Session

11.01.2022 The Junior Boys B had travelled to Melville Senior High School to play their final game for year. After some great performances in our previous games. This was the boy’s final opportunity to showcase everything that had learnt throughout the year. The game was scrappy from the start and both sides were struggling to get good controlled possession. After the game continued the boys really started to get a foot hold of the game and started creating some good goal scoring opport...unities. Not after long South Coast were able to break the deadlock going into the half time a goal to the good. The second half we continued to move the ball well and kept on creating chance after chance but with a great defensive performance from Melville and with some outstanding saves from their goalkeeper we were un able to convert a lot of our chances but still ended the game with a win. Thank you to all the parents players and staff.

07.01.2022 Wishing you all a safe and enjoyable Easter

07.01.2022 The Junior Boys B team had their third game of the term against Safety Bay Senior High School. After the defeat against John Curtin the previous week, the boys were desperate to put it right and go out and get a good result against our closest rivals. For majority of the first half South Coast heavily dominated possession creating some good goal scoring chances and keeping a nice high solid back line so we were able to cancel out any potential goal scoring opportunities Safet...y Bay were creating. The third goal was scored by Adam Pryce and it was a goal to remember, with a great cross from the right-hand side from Sean Tubbs-Forsey, Adam Pryce executed the perfect bicycle kick which made the game 3-0 to South Coast and with managing to score one more South Coast had a comfortable lead going into half time. The second half was more of the same from South Coast, solid defending at the back allowed us to maintain possession and move the ball through the thirds to create more goal scoring opportunities, with some fantastic saves from Safety Bays goalkeeper In the second half he was able to deny South Coast a few more goals, but unfortunately that wasn’t enough to bring Safety Bay back into the game and which meant the full time result going in South Coast's favour. Hopefully we can take that momentum into what will be our final game of the year against Melville Senior High School.

07.01.2022 Applications for 2021 Football Academy trials are now open, closing on the 23rd of July. For more information contact [email protected]

06.01.2022 The Junior Boys A and John Curtin A played out an entertaining fixture at John Curtin’s ground. The game started lively with South Coast applying the early pressure and taking the lead in the game. Then game then settled for a short time with both team high pressing and football abilities cancelling each other. However, midway through the half John Curtin turned on the heat and found there rhythm put South Coast Baptist College under immense pressure with and without the bal...l lead to a flurry of goals for the Home side. John Curtin went into the break with a substantial lead. South Coast determined to make amends for their first half performance took the game to John Curtin. The playing group showed fantastic resilience and character to come back into the game. They were creating chance after chance to get themselves back into the game on the goals tally. South Coast eventually broke through and brought the game back within one goal. Pushing for an equaliser, South Coast had chances to draw level but unfortunately ran out of time. It was a very exciting and entertaining game to watch. Thank you to all the parents and staff for their support.

05.01.2022 On Wednesday the Senior Boys started their defence of the ACC State Championship in a one day carnival against Seton College, Mandurah Catholic College and Foundation Christian College. The day started against Foundation and early on we were lucky not to be one down after a quick counter from Foundation where they had the ball in the back of the net however the flag was up for offside. After the early scare we switched on and started to control proceedings and the chances sta...rted to appear. We were able to convert before half time and go in ahead. In the second half after discussing how we would break the opponent down we played some very good football and run out comfortable winners. In the second game against Mandurah Catholic College we were electric in the first half and put the beyond doubt in the first half. In the second half we dropped off our standards but remained in control and won the game. In the last game with both us and Seton on 6 points the winner would go through. The game started at a fast pace and it was physical with both sides wanting to gain the ascendancy. The game was scrappy early on and it was a battle in midfield. After the game continued we were able to get our foot on the ball and move it around and we then were able to start to create chances. We were not able to convert a chance until a mix up at the back from Seton allowed us to get ahead. In the second half we continued to move the ball well and we were able to control the game and in the end run out winners. This means we progress to the semi-final on the 2nd of September which will be played at South Coast. We would like to thank the referees on the day, Rebekah from ACC for organising, Rockingham City for allowing us use of the facilities and to the other schools for the games on the day.

05.01.2022 Today our primary Football Academy students learnt about considering others and making sure everyone is included. "Kindness is like a boomerang. Use it often, it always returns."

05.01.2022 The Junior Boys B had their first game of the year against Halls Head College. After all their hard work so far, this year in training it was finally time to put that all to the test. The team dominated possession in most parts throughout the game looking very positive in our play. We were able to create some good chances early on and went into half time with the lead. The second half was more of the same, controlled possession from South Coast and with a solid back line we w...ere able to stop Halls Head from creating any dangerous goal scoring chances. As the game progressed South Coast had all the momentum and managed to get a few more goals in which gave us a comfortable lead and we managed to finish the game as the winners. Thank you to all the parents, staff and supporters who came to watch the game. Well done to the boys.

01.01.2022 We would like to take this opportunity to thank Bobby Despotovski for coming to SCBC yesterday and sharing his knowledge and experiences to our aspiring Football Academy students. It was fantastic to see the Perth Glory Womens Head Coach mentor some of our girls in particular, giving them insight in what it takes to become a professional footballer, and what it was like to coach Sam Kerr. A final thank you to Football Academy staff member Adi Juric in particular for putting so much time and effort into organising Bobby to come to SCBC.

01.01.2022 The Junior Boys B play their second game of the year against John Curtin B at John Curtin’s ground. The game started and straight from the off it was a game of fast tempo and high quality, both teams started out playing some really good football but shortly into the first half John Curtin managed to get a goal and go into halftime with the lead. The second half saw the South Coast boys come out with more hunger and determination to get themselves back into the match. After b...attling all half and creating a lot of goal scoring chances we were unfortunate to not get a goal, because of this John Curtin were able to put the game to bed late on in the second half to secure the victory for them. Thank you to all the parents, staff and supporters who came to watch the game and for your support.

01.01.2022 That end of Term feeling... from the Football Academy staff, we wish everyone a happy and safe holidays!
