24.01.2022 Do you think this wife will leave their child at home alone with her husband any time again soon? Way cool . I especially like the one with the hammer drill - he even remembered the PPE!

23.01.2022 The amount of High Vis workwear I own is RIDICULOUS. Same shirt 5 days a week. No one would know if I wore the same shirt 5 days in a row or a fresh shirt every day! I get teased at home because when Im not at work, I tend to wear whatever shirt is on top of the pile. As it so happens it is the shirt that had just been worn and washed and put away. ... I didnt know I was "supposed" to pick from the bottom of the pile in order to rotate through my clothes. Happy Thursday.

16.01.2022 My wife organises our household- and she does it in a way which looks to be like random acts of insanity ... she insists she has her own system. I get given lists/instructions from time to time which is me doing my part. Hooks and hanging of stuff, cleaning filters, replacing fridge seals, removing and cleaning flyscreens, cleaning of bathroom S bends, squeaky hinges and the odd furniture assembly after another trip to IKEA. ... She makes it work.

15.01.2022 Coming into the warmer months we tend to eat later and have a simple meal - throwing some meat on the Barbie. Having been to many social occasions the men gather around the fire and there have been many discussions about what is the best BBQ, how long to leave the meat on the plate ...

08.01.2022 Hard to believe but there are articles out there that explain mowing etiquette- What the ... I myself done see the need, it’s just common sense. People don’t won’t to be woken up early - especially on a Sunday morning, so wait till at least 10am right?... It’s your grass and so you keep it in your yard - and not throw over the fence into your neighbours yard right? You are entitled to a beer after your finish the mowing no matter what time of the day it is right? Enjoy your mowing . Be safe out there.

08.01.2022 With the extended rain we have been experiencing in Queensland at the moment - an opportunity to get prepared and ready early for storm season. Checking gutters, downpipes and drains to make sure they are clear and in good repair. https://www.jimsmowing.com.au/2016/02/cleaning-your-gutters/

04.01.2022 We are so appreciative of the support of others. Referrals and word of mouth is the best form of advertising. Thank you ever so much for the recommendations to those within your network - friends, family, neighbours and colleagues - it is what lifted us and got us going. We are now 6 months in with this new venture of Scott Gilvear Construction and couldn’t be happier.

03.01.2022 Last day today in the outdoor office. Heading off on a road trip with the family for Christmas. Back on deck from Tuesday 5th January 2021.... I will try to respond to any messages on my route - but phone service is not guaranteed.

02.01.2022 We all work hard for the money we earn - blood, sweat and tears are sometimes shed in the process of earning an income. So ... when spending it, we like to think that we are going to get the best possible bang for our buck. Recently a neighbour has been on the wrong end doing things on the cheap when it comes to tradesman undertaking work on his home. ... He would ask, how can I save money, how much cheaper for cash, I will help on the day. He is now looking at a $10,000 repair bill to repair the damage made by his methods to save money. Costly lesson. A tradesmans time and expertise is worth the investment. Shortcuts lead to inferior quality and potentially more money to address and rectify. It might be hard to hear but if you don’t like the cost or the quote is much more than you had budgeted for. It is a case of: 1. Talk to the qualified tradesman (not the bloke down the street) about alternatives 2. Review your plan (and adjust expectations) 3. Wait until you have the funds available for the work that you want done THERE ARE TRADESMAN that overcharge and do the wrong thing by clients - and I can’t help you with that. All I can suggest is you get a second quote and do a comparison.
