21.01.2022 Kawasaki Racing Team have arrived in Jerez de la Frontera to begin the preparations for the 2021 WorldSBK campaign. With the riders and team technicians busy wo...rking on the development of the Ninja ZX-10RR race machines, the hospitality crew are also working on their preparations for next year. KRT had hoped to introduce their new hospitality unit to the paddock in 2020 but due to the Covid safety protocols within the championship, and the fact that no guests were allowed at races, this was not possible. This week at Circuit de Jerez however it has been possible to bring the new facility to the race track and allow the hospitality team to get familiar with the workings of the new kitchen and dining area, ready to welcome guests in 2021. On a normal race weekend the lower half of the hospitality unit will be available for the team members to dine during the day. At this test the entire KRT squad have undertaken a series of Covid PCR tests to form a ‘bubble’ that allows them to work and dine together. When in use the upper floor will be used exclusively by team guests and sponsors during the day and will cater for between 50 and 60 people at each sitting. The team members themselves will take their evening meals in the more formal setting during the season.

12.01.2022 A 45-year-old Sydney man has been charged for allegedly importing approximately 144kgs of cocaine hidden in hydraulic cylinders. Operation Tethys began earlier ...this month after Australian Border Force detected drugs hidden in the consignment. AFP Crime Scene Investigators removed the cocaine blocks from the hydraulic cylinders and substituted them with an inert substance for a controlled delivery to a warehouse in Botany, NSW. Police will allege in court the 45-year-old man spent two days pulling apart the cylinders and accessing the hidden consignment. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $64.8 million.
